Small, Reliable, and Surprisingly Smart — Perfect for Expanding a Tapo Setup
I added a few Tapo Door Sensor Minis (T110) to expand my existing Tapo system, and they’ve been fantastic. They’re tiny, accurate, and incredibly easy to set up — exactly what you want from a contact sensor. Compact Size, Big Performance These sensors are small. They blend right into door frames, cabinets, and windows without looking bulky or out of place. Despite the size, they’re very responsive — every open/close event registers instantly in the app. Long Battery Life with Low‑Power Wireless The Sub‑1G low‑power protocol really pays off. The sensors stay connected without draining the battery, and the range is excellent. Even sensors placed far from the hub stay rock‑solid. Real‑Time Notifications That Are Actually Real‑Time Notifications hit my phone immediately. Whether it’s a door opening, a window being cracked, or a cabinet being accessed, the alerts are fast and reliable. Perfect for monitoring entry points or keeping an eye on kids getting into places they shouldn’t. Smart Actions Make These Even Better Paired with a Tapo Hub, the automations are super useful. I’ve set up things like: Turning on hallway lights when a door opens Sending alerts if a window opens at night Triggering routines when I leave home Everything works smoothly and consistently. 15mm Gap Tolerance = Flexible Installation This is a small detail, but it matters. The wider gap tolerance makes installation easier on older doors or frames that aren’t perfectly aligned. What I Love Most Ultra‑compact design Fast, accurate detection Long battery life Strong wireless range Easy setup with the Tapo Hub Great for automations and security What Could Be Better Requires a Tapo Hub (not a standalone sensor) Adhesive mounting means you’ll need extra tape if you reposition it Bottom Line If you already have a Tapo Hub and want reliable, compact sensors for doors, windows, or cabinets, the Tapo Door Sensor Mini (T110) is an excellent choice. It’s fast, efficient, and integrates perfectly with Tapo smart actions. Highly recommended for anyone building out a smart home.

Best door sensor IF you already have a Tapo hub
I bought these because I wanted to be able to keep track of when certain doors were opened, especially when I'm away. I already had a Tapo H500 hub, so installation was simple. The most difficult part is figuring out where and how to attach them to the door, especially on doors that swing inwards. I couldn't make it work on my back door, because there isn't enough clearance for the door to pass the small half of the sensor, but all the other doors it fits with no problems. You will sometimes need to attach the adhesive to an edge that it wasn't designed for, but it still seems to work. I particularly like how I can set up a routine so that when a door is opened, it sounds a chime on the hub. I can't tell you how many times I've been startled by a roommate suddenly appearing at my office door because I didn't hear them open the hall door. This isn't a problem any longer. These sensors are a much better price than the ones from Aeotec, and much more reliable than the ones from Sonoff.

Highly Recommended
Both the hub and sensors are easy and straightforward to setup. The hub is first setup by connecting it to your WiFi router via a 2.4 GHz wireless network. It needs an available wall power socket. The sensors connect wirelessly to the hub and are associated with it using the phone or tablet app which also facilitates configuring the hub and sensors. There is a siren on the hub that, depending on its configuration, can function as either an alarm (set to it's loudest setting) or a chime when a sensor is triggered. I also have several wireless motion-detection sensors (Passive Infra-Red) connected to the hub - everything works smoothly with no fuss. The sensors attach to a wall or door jamb with double-sided tape. This system is superior to my home alarm system due to the facility of instant notifications on my smart phone and the ability to control it from anywhere with an internet connection.

Excellent, Reliable Door Sensor!
I recently installed the TP-Link Tapo Door Sensor, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup! The installation was incredibly easy, taking just a few minutes to attach it to my doorframe. The sensor is compact, discreet, and works flawlessly with the Tapo app, providing instant notifications every time the door opens or closes. One of the standout features is the real-time alerts, which give me peace of mind whether I’m at home or away. The app is super user-friendly, and I love that it integrates seamlessly with other Tapo devices in my home. It’s also very energy-efficient, and the battery life seems great so far. For anyone looking for an affordable and reliable smart door sensor, the TP-Link Tapo is a perfect choice. It’s given me that extra layer of security I was looking for, and I couldn’t be happier with the performance! Highly recommended!

Works as intended but needs a better ring
Easy to install. The included adhesives hold steady and so far the battery life has worked. Note that you do need a Tapo hub (H100,H200, or H500) to make this work and pair it with the Tapo app. The setup process guides you through each step. You have the option of customizing this with triggers such as sounding a bell or playing a custom sound from one of your Tapo cameras. This alone is where I believe the product falls short. For having the hub play a sound when a door or window is open/the sensor is activated, you are stuck with choosing a predefined set of doorbell sounds. There is no custom sound option, only to shorten the sounds already had. The workaround to this is if you have an indoor Tapo camera. Then you can make a trigger to play a custom recorded sound when the sensor detects the door or window is open. All in all, great if you are in the Tapo ecosystem and do not mind these minor shortfalls. If the battery life goes close to a year, I will consider this a solid investment.

Good device for security.
Easy connections to the app. Easy notification for sounds from the hub as well as turning lights on and off for visual indicators. On sale reasonable cost.

Easy to use, be sure to buy the hub to use them
These are really nice little door/window sensors. Super easy to connect to the hub and super easy to install. I put one on my entry gate, protected from the weather, so I know when a deliver person opens the gate. Rings a chime on the hub and I can beat the porch pirates to my packages. Others go on the doors and if you have a cabinet you want to keep the kids/maid/strangers out of you can install on the insider of a cabinet door and get a notification on your phone if it was opened. Amazon Alexa integrates as well so you can ask questions like "Alexa is my back door closed" and she will say "The backdoor is closed (or open)" depending on if it is open or closed. If you are clever you can put them on your garage door and get a notification if you left it open more than a certain amount of time with a smart action. If you have Tapo light switches opening the front door at night can turn on an entry hallway light if you want. Replaceable batteries, buy these but be sure you get the hub to use them

Works great and gives me peace of mind.
This thing is great! Put on freezer to make sure it doesn’t accidentally get left open (again). Alarms if door is open for too long.

Tp-link Tapo door sensors are a great investment.
Very good sensors, I installed on my patio door, garage entry & front door. App & hub are easy to f configure. Able to setup with TP-link light switches so after dusk when door opens it turns on the lights at the door. Also able to set alert if doors are left open, you can even control the time limit for response.

Excelentes

great value and a smart, functional device
I added the Tapo T110 contact sensor to my smart home system and it’s been working flawlessly. Setup was quick and intuitive through the Tapo app — just pair it with the Tapo H100 hub and you’re good to go. I installed it on a door, but it would work just as well on windows, or cabinets. One suggestion: customizable notification tones — especially for users managing multiple sensors.

Ensure compatibility with hub before buying
Bought the H100 hub (mandatory device in order for the sensor to work correctly) from the same seller. It was not compatible with this device, the sensor was US based, and the hub was EU based. Both work on different frequencies, the pairing failed.
