Is it dishwasher safe

We recommend the following when cleaning/washing the spiralizer: - Wash the spiralizer under running tap water. Use a mild detergent if necessary. Use a brush to clean between the blade teeth if necessary. - Hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of the product. - If washed in a dishwasher, use the top rack only, as hot water can warp the suction pad and prevent it from working correctly. I hope it helps!

I received this today, and have a granite countertop. i have tried everything to make the suction cup work, and it simply does not work at all?!?

Sometimes suction cups need to be dampened to stick better and form a seal. Try dipping your finger in some warm water and running it around the edge of the inside of the cup before placing it on the counter. If your granite is smooth (doesn't have to be shiny) and the cup is not warped, this should help.

Does it turn cabbage into regular slaw? Or into long spirals?

I think you'd have to experiment with the direction you put the cabbage wedges in the machine...probably not the best tool for shredding cabbage...the spiralizer does a great job with long and thinner veggies zucc's, yellow squash, etc.
