Pulled a full-size truck like it owed me money.
The media could not be loaded. Mounted the X-BULL XRS 13,500lb winch on my Jeep, and I’ve already used it to recover a buddy’s Silverado buried to the frame. For the price? Absolutely worth it. It doesn’t just look good—it performs when it counts.✅ What I Liked:Pulling power is legit – 13,500lb rating isn’t just for show. It handled heavy recoveries without groaning or overheating.Wireless + wired remotes – Both work great. Wireless is fast and responsive within 50 ft.Synthetic rope – Lightweight, safer than steel, and way easier to handle solo.Overall construction feels solid – Not Warn-tier, but not harbor-freight-tier either.⚠️ What Could Be Better:Instructions = meh – Basic wiring info, but no detail. YouTube saved the day.No isolator included – I added a kill switch to avoid parasitic draw and stay trail-safe.🔧 Install Notes:Mounted it to a Tyger Fury bumper (fit perfectly). Took about 90 minutes with wiring. Used a breaker switch inline for battery safety and routed the remote plug port to a cleaner spot with a weatherproof cap.⭐ Final Verdict:If you’re not trying to drop a grand on a name but still want pull-your-buddy-out-of-a-ditch power, this is the winch. It’s not flashy, it’s not fancy—but it works. Just do a clean install, and this winch will absolutely earn its keep.

Awesome winch for the money.
I have been running this winch for a couple of years now on my Jeep JKU without any issues. The wireless remote always connects quickly and it has been problem free. The winch rope it came with worked great, no issues other than it becoming stiff when used, i just work it a bit to soften and to remove any weird set it took. You also need to keep the rope tight on the spool or it will do weird things, but that's just synthetic rope 101.Out of the box, you do want to tension the rope on the spool, mine was pretty loose on the spool.Lots of youtube videos on the different methods used to do that. While i did end up changing the ropeout for something else that didn't stand out so much, the rope never failed me.The ropes final act before being converted into an extension was to assist me with the install of a rear offroad bumper.I needed to apply pressure to one side of the rear bumper as i torqued the bolts in order to get it centered and lined up with the fenders, and to apply a couple weld beads to make it really solid due to a wierd design/mounting choice they made (smitt XRC).I thought about using one of my recovery rings and another vehicle parked in front of the jeep do do it proper, but i opted to see how well the rope handled the abuse. No issues, no fraying, no signs of the rope being compromised.I also used a couple rope sleeves to prevent snagging as the rope was routed under the vehicle. It did rub a little red/orange on the fairlead but it did what i needed.Once i retired the rope from winch use and converted it to a winch extension, i needed to convert one end to a soft loop.Watching some youtube videos i had no issues following the process and running the rope through the strands and into the center. The winch itself has been performing well, and i can stand at the maximum length of the rope and experienced no connectivity issues.Helpful when changing the winch rope and trying to keep some tension as i load it onto the spool.Only complaint with the winch, it's a little slow.Likely due to the gear reduction, but it is slow.Even slower when loaded.Dangling on the point of near annoyance while the winch is dragging the jeep up a hill.Me wondering how hot the winch is getting while i clear a couple feet. The red rope also started to turn orange, it took it a good year and a half before i started noticing the hue difference between parts exposed to the sun, and parts protected due to the position on the spool.Being that it's red, it's not surprising. The red color was already close to orange as it was.I do like how visible the rope is, it doesn't blend into the background. Anyone coming by will sure notice it!The winch design i also find attractive, strong brand "W" vibes.Sizing of the winch body was also perfect for my bumper. It fit into the hole like it was designed for it.And sits nice and low like i wanted.Having a winch is even more handy than i thought it would beI use it around the yard/property to rip out trees and bushes. And most recently i used it to straighten a bent piece of 1/4in thick angle iron.Parked the jeep on top of the steel, then used a tree saver and a recovery ring to have the pully pull from a different angle.Even if your just looking for a winch to complete the look or fill a hole in a winch bumper, you will probably find lot's of uses for it that don't involve recovery!I would 100% buy another one of these due to my experience so far and the price.

Powerful winch at a good price
I haven't had an opportunity to test this is real conditions, but it seems to work well on a bench test. The assembly instructions consisted of one page consisting of a small diagram on wiring. Nothing on bolting to a mount, etc. The rest of the information in the book as about how to use a winch. And don't bother calling X-Bull, you won't reach anyone. There is not help on their web site either. My chief complaint is the four mounting holes are not threaded but instead have a slot to slide in a nut that fits loosely. The nuts do not stay in place when you are mounting, so you have to tape them or use some other method to prevent it from falling out.

Beast mode so far!!!
Easy to install on my gladiator. All the cables are a good length. Directions are simple. I esthetically pleased with the winch. Time will tell how we do on the trail!

Great unit
Don't let yourself get caught up in the "name brand" shaming cycle. Sure, you can spend four times the amount for a name brand. But this unit will do anything a warn or smittybuilt can. AT LESS THAN HALF THE COST.Build quality was fantastic. The winch operates flawlessly. It's a 216:1 ratio, so isn't going to blow the doors off in a race, but it will get there without overheating.Weighing 59lbs with synthetic rope, it fits perfectly into my Proline bumper on my 2007.5 Dodge Ram 3500.I'm not one for looks of a winch. I more care about how they perform. But this winch looks excellent on the front end of my truck, and pulls like a champ.I wanted to test the unit, so I hooked up to my camper after receiving the winch. Between the truck and trailer, the scale says I'm 16,500 lbs. The winch handled the weight fine up a roughly 10 degree grade.Overall I am pleased with my purchase. Should come in handy l late season elk hunting.
