Smooth 280Hz Gaming with Great Colors
Overclockable to 280Hz makes gameplay incredibly fluid. IPS panel with good color accuracy and HDR support. Sturdy stand, low input lag. Excellent for competitive gaming, best monitor in its class.

Black Frame Insertion is absolutely difficult to use, reducing the brightness to minimum
I've been geeking out over the ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM 280Hz monitor lately, and let me tell you, it's been quite the ride. Here's my own personal take on this beast of a gaming monitor: Sleek Design and Fast Refresh Rate (5/5): First things first, this monitor looks the part. It's got that sleek gaming vibe without going overboard. But what really got me hooked is that 280Hz refresh rate. Seriously, it's like buttery smooth gaming heaven. If you haven't experienced high refresh rates yet, you're in for a treat. Full HD and ELMB Sync (4.5/5): Gaming in Full HD (1080p) never felt this good. The visuals are sharp, and the colors pop. And let's not forget ELMB Sync. It reduces motion blur, and when combined with the high refresh rate, it's a game-changer. Fast-paced games have never been this clear. Fast Response Time and G-Sync (4/5): With a 1ms response time and G-Sync compatibility, this monitor keeps up with my frantic gaming sessions. No more screen tearing, no more lag. It's like the monitor can read my mind. HDR (3.5/5): Okay, the HDR is decent, but not mind-blowing. It definitely enhances the visual experience, but it's not quite on par with some of the premium HDR monitors out there. I'd say it's a nice bonus rather than a game-changer. Build Quality (4/5): The TUF Gaming monitor feels sturdy and well-built. The stand is rock-solid, and you can adjust it to your heart's content. Plus, the bezels are nice and thin, which adds to the immersive gaming experience. Price and Value (4/5): Now, let's talk about the price. It's not exactly a budget monitor, but considering the performance you're getting, it's a solid investment. If you're serious about gaming and want a smoother, tear-free experience, it's worth every dollar. In Conclusion: To wrap it up, the ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM 280Hz monitor is a gaming beast that has seriously upped my gaming game. The speed, the visuals, and the overall experience are top-notch. If you're a gamer looking to take your skills to the next level and don't mind spending a bit extra for a premium monitor, this one's a winner. It's a bit pricier, but trust me, those silky-smooth 280Hz frames are worth every cent. Happy gaming!

A fantastic choice for any gamer.
Before I review the monitor I need to mention that I had to return my first one due to stuck pixels as such I have took away a star but for this reason only, amazon replaced it quickly without any fuss, And the replacement has arrived without any defects. As the monitor has a IPS panel it does have a slight amount of IPS glow but this is minimal and isn't really noticeable under normal use same applies for ghosting its subtle but not noticeable. This monitor looks acceptable with HDR on I have had a HDR400 monitor and that this one looks far better. Text looks clear, colours pop and contrast is what you would expect from a 1000: IPS panel I Currently have it connected via a DP cable and as it is display port 1.4 I haven't noticed any bandwidth issues that can occur when a 2k monitor with HDR is connected via DP 1.2. Speaking of which there is a option in the OSD to change cable type from DP 1.2 to 1.4. Freesync premium is flawless on this display even at 144hz, 10bit colour space with HDR enabled. You cannot enable 10bit colour with any refresh rate over 144hz so you have to compromise colour over framerate but I find 144hz is enough. The inbuilt speakers are what's to be expected, At only 2w they are extremely tinny with bass being non existent, They are fine if you have nothing else but I recommend buying a set of satellite speakers. All in all I am completely satisfied with this monitor and would recommend it to any one even after the first one had stuck pixels.

Worth buying but high fault risk!
Firstly it's a brilliant monitor. Rated brilliantly on various review sites which is why I picked it. The price was amazing, nothing else came close. It's great for gaming, really good. Now the bind. I had read about build quality. More exactly the very poor control of items leaving the factory. Dead pixels being the most common. Mine did not have that and it was several hours of use and testing that I noticed the fault. Once noticed it's too bad to ignore so it's been returned and replaced. More on the second later.... In the picture above you will hopefully see the fault, it was very tricky to take an accurate picture of it. The frame around the screen which sits inside the case is warped, BADLY. Down the left hand side you will notice the strip bordering the screen is mostly silver sheen, except for the very middle, it's darker, near black. This is the bulge, about 3mm+ outwards. This in turn you will see makes a lighter screen distortion reaching towards the middle of the screen. On dark or black frames it's terrible and there is no way this should have left the factory in this condition. This must have been production damage as the packaging is, was, 100% unmarked even after delivery. The right hand side bulges out in the exact same way by about 1mm but does not cause screen distortion. I've always rated Asus products and have a still working 12 year old motherboard / GPU setup I loved so much it's now a home hub. This has not dented my trust in Asus as I think they're allowed one faulty product in what is now thirty plus buys. But again, this should never have left the factory in this state so be aware. Worth buying every time but might be faulty. EDIT : Second one arrived perfect. Amazon would not return and replace so I returned then rebought. All handled very quickly. Delivered on a Sunday. Bumping this from 2 stars to 5 based on the performance of the second monitor.

High quality, brilliant picture. Deserves the high ratings.
I bought this 1080p monitor to play Switch 1 games as they look bad scaled up to 4K on my main TV when I'm using the Switch 2. I am amazed at how good the picture is. Couldn't be happier with it, the entire monitor feels like a very high quality piece of kit with a great design and sturdy build quality. Highly recommend.

very bad image quality
i don't write reviews but this was probably the worst monitor i ever purchased in my life, even a cheap samsung VA 1080p monitor i use as a secondary was far superior. the colour were so washed up it was insane, whenever i would play games and move the cursor to look around the images would smudge and stretch until i'd stop. it was horrendous, i did everything i could in tweaking the image but nothing worked. i was going to get it replaced but the secondary monitor was also bad (imagine that) that i couldnt tolerate using it as a main for too long. listen, i might have got a really bad batch monitor but i wasn't going to risk returning it for the same model. again the reviews seems good on this so i might have had a bad monitor, but the one i had was by far the worst ive ever used

Blown away by this model!
TLDR; Looks amazing and is packed full of features, I HIGHLY recommend it particularly if you’re looking to do a big leap from a 60hz monitor to something better!! So good I want another for my side monitor! I spent ages browsing around and omg does this thing have ALL the bells and whistles! Going from using a dinky 60hz monitor pretty much all my life to this is insane. Well worth the money, so much that I'm considering getting a second even if it's just my side monitor! With all the features included, at 300hz, plus it being QHD, it was clearly impossible for me to find a better deal for the money spent. Out of the box it's really easy to set up, instructions are clear and the stand is simple enough to attach. I really like the gas lift stand, it's extremely smooth and the monitor doesn't fall down at all - I also really like the cable channel. I do find the legs for this to be too big/long for my small space, so it wasn't long before I swapped it out for a desk arm mount using the VESA panel, it was very easy to remove the old stand and put on the bracket. Initially the colours will take a bit of adjusting until you can get it to your liking, but without an actual physical tool I feel like you can be there all day adjusting it a little bit at a time - eventually you just have to settle on something that looks OK colour wise and just go with it for a bit. I do find in particular the HDR setting is very very yellow toned - and using it also locks out a lot of other features, so I don't tend to use this one. You can ABSOLUTELY tell the difference in the crazy refresh rate, both on testing websites and during gameplay. I thought games looked "just fine" before, but I don't think I'll ever be able to go back. You don't know what you've been missing out on! Now it looks buttery smooth! Overall I'm really impressed with the general screen quality, but particularly the brightness and colour contrast, it really really makes my old screen look very dull and worn out. Quite frankly on my tiny little desk it's like having a cinema screen in front of my eyes haha, It's actually so much better and brighter than my old one that I'm finding I have to keep the brightness down a bit while I adjust. I really love all the different features this monitor has, which can be controlled via the button(s) on the back or with the Display Widget Center. I was initially worried about the inclusion of all the AI based features - I think AI has its places and uses so I'm not adverse- but was worried about not being able to turn things off/on. Thankfully all of the AI stuff you can control - and while the game assist stuff is there from the start, the AI Visual stuff is an additional thing you download via the control center. (The AI Visual mode essentially takes a guess at what you're up to and adjusts your settings on the fly, for example writing this review it set itself to Office Mode) I am somewhat disappointed things like HDR and ELMB actually lock off a bunch of features such as; refresh rate, brightness, aspect control, blue light filter, variable OD etc but I suppose this is the nature of the thing, in that it needs to control all that stuff for you. I just find it awkward because I'm sacrificing other appearances for smoother visuals - for example it's smooth now, but also it's very dark and the refresh rate is locked as a trade off. However it’s nice to have the option if this is something you need or want to use over anything else. This also has voice control (and keyboard typing?) if that's also helpful for you in any way, so you can switch it up without lifting a finger or having to look at menus. Again this is an optional download like the AI assist, so you’re not bloating out your PC with all this software unless you need it. You can also assign hotkeys to various functions like Variable OD, Blue Light Filter, Brightness and a bunch more etc if control via your keyboard is more your style. I also really like that you can save two lots of settings and load them whenever you like via the menus - However I find that once I have it where I want it, generally that's the setting it stays on, so I have two that are the same, just one is a bit darker for lower light environments at night. (This is a fantastic feature if you playing a couple games often and want different settings for each) It's a shame that there are only two save spots for your settings, I wish you could add more. I also really like the MultiFrame option which lets you (via preset options) customize where you want open programs etc to snap to on the screen when moving them around. It’s great if you’re using this for work as you can easily snap projects based on your preferences, and also change this on the fly if you need to switch it up. The GamePlus features all have their own customisations too, allowing you to add a Crosshair, Timer, FPS counter and put up a display alignment chart. Between Image options, Colour options and additional features like Variable OD, Shadow Boost etc there’s SO much customisation you can do to get the perfect picture no matter what you’re doing. Overall I’m having a blast with this monitor and I’d have no hesitation in buying this one, or another TUF in the future.
