Saved me a lot of money to fix a self-made problem
It took me less than 15 minutes from opening the box to having it set up and tested, and I was very impressed with the picture quality and the ease of use.I hadn't planned on buying an endoscope, but after dropping a small ratchet into an inaccessible area of the engine in my truck while replacing a part, I needed some way of finding the ratchet, and then retrieving it.At this point I started researching endoscopes and saw there were wired and wireless models, and after careful consideration I decided on the wireless model since one that is wired to my phone would have a high probability of accidentally pulling my phone off of wherever it was sitting at some point, possibly damaging the phone. It turned out the wireless option worked great, and I was able to have my phone up on the front windshield while I worked in the engine compartment without any worries. The one recommendation I would make to anyone getting this endoscope and needs to retrieve something is also get a flexible claw grabber as well. I used the endoscope to find the item to be retrieved, and while watching the video on my phone was able to maneuver the claw grabber into position and get the item. The endoscope does come with a small magnet attachment, but once attached it blocks the forward camera so you can only see from the side camera, which makes it hard to see the object you want to retrieve.

Hurrah for the side camera
This is exactly what I needed when I could not find any other good tool. I need to look at the thickness of brake pads when they are installed and the wheels are on. This means that there is a 1/2 inch space between the wheel rim and the inspection hole in the caliper. I could not get the proper angle with a mirror and sometimes the space was so small that I could not get a pinky finger in to feel. This side camera allows me to slip it into the gap I have and view the brake pad base and pad along with the disk edge. The camera picture is good and I can compare the pad thickness to its base. I can always feel how thick the base is because I can feel it on the edge of the caliper. At first, I could not figure out how to turn on the side camera. The app had nothing that would let me do that. I emailed the company and have yet to hear from them two weeks later. However, when I started the whole thing up again after shutting it down, the app had a camera switch button clearly displayed on the bottom panel.Yes, I have to reset my phone wifi to communicate with the camera, but when I turn off the camera, my android phone reverts back to the wifi connection it had previously.

Very useful
I was doing a bathroom renovation and could use this to drill into wall sheet rock to see how much space etc was behind. Also to poke into the back of a very loaded book case to see what was dropped behind.

This thing is cool as heck
Freakin awesome. Was confused at first about how to connect to my phone because the instructions said to look for WLAN or Wireless LAN in phone settings but my phone didn't have that. What happens is after you turn on the device (hold down power button 3 seconds) it starts putting out its own WiFi signal. Then you just use your phone to connect to the wifi network named ANESOK-XXXX. Download the app and everything connected automatically. Just toggle the little button once you're in the app to switch from picture mode to live video mode and off you go. I used it to look down a drain pipe.

It works, but questionably better imagery.
Several years ago I purchased a name brand borescope that I have used on automotives to easily look into tight areas, plumbing to locate items dropped in the drain or confirm whether an obstruction exists from tree roots, and running cables between residential walls. It’s worked fine at an advertised resolution of 720p and a sturdy cable about 2 meters long. But the prospect of getting finer visual acuity and the ease of linking the device to my smart phone for recording purposes was appealing. This device has a much longer cable, but I haven’t needed the extra length and question if its rigidity would handle the rigors of snaking inside walls or similar tight and non-linear paths. The image quality is good, but no more spectacular than what I have been accustomed to - and one bit of debris means retraction to clean the lens anyway. I can’t objectively measure the resolution, which would warrant fewer stars if I could. It works and is in the toolbox, but frankly the old stand alone bore sight continues to be the first choice. Also, it’s a bit cumbersome to disconnect the WiFi on my phone, connect to this device while in use, and then reconnect to WiFi. That’s not a design flaw, it’s just the reality of using a device in tandem with the phone.
