Mil-Comm TW25B Premium Firearm and Gun Grease 4-Ounce Tapered Tip Tube, Synthetic Lubricant

I've been shooting and cleaning guns for quite some time now and I've always used the best of the best in order to extend the life of my firearms. This grease is great for ALL guns and top firearm brands recommend it. It works well with P226R, M9, SA M1911, and Glocks (but obviously it suits all firearms wonderfully) Pros: - Doesn't run even when hot - provides great protection against slide friction from frame - Box tells you the necessary amount that should be applied for various applications (from light to heavy use) - Long life - Reliable - Gun mechanics move a lot smoother Cons: - None Notes: - This 4oz tube's tip is sealed completely; therefore you need to cut the tip in order to create an exit for the grease - Grease will naturally separate the white compound and the oils in the tube; no worries, just knead the tube a bit before using Recommendation(s)/Suggestion(s): - Like I said, you need to cut an opening before you can sqeeze it out; however, instead of cutting a hole, I suggest poking a hole with a fairly large needle. This way you can sqeeze firmly without having to worry about sqeezing out too much at once. - Before using the product, knead the tube a bit to have a more uniform solution of grease - Don't use on the inside of the barrel - When applying to your firearms, apply a decent ammount (an even faint white colored amount); if you see pure white spot of lube, then you applied too much; if you don't see a faint white amount, then you need to apply more Thanks for reading this review, cheers! ***Update 10/13/2011*** This product continues to amaze me. It doesn't dry out, it keeps my firearms running smoothly. I recently got a new AR-15 (LMT MRP CQBPS16) and I am impressed with how well it lubricates and protects all the vital parts and pieces. Grease and the oils will separate the in the tube (Shake or knead tube before use). - Sig Sauer recommended this item for use with their firearms and I've used on every weapon I have for years with great results. - A little goes along way, 4oz tube will last for years.

There's no shortage of firearm lubrication products out there. From the multipurpose (CLP) to repurposed lubed (motor oil, ATF), to the super high tech firearm specific stuff, we have a wide array of choices. Personally, I use a few different kinds of things, but there's the occasional spots where a liquid oil just isn't perfect. For those little places that NEED good lube, don't have much clearance for lube, and can run dry, a light gun grease can be ideal. For that, TW-25B is good stuff. I especially like it for the frame rails on semiauto pistols (in fact, Sig Sauer includes small tubes of it with their autochuckers; that's how I discovered it). I don't know that I'd use it where junk is likely to accumulate (the bolt carrier of an AR-15, for example), but in places that tend to stay clean but *really* ought to stay lubed, this tube of grease should keep you running for a long time. It doesn't take much, but it keeps those rails lubed better than the oils I've tried.

This review was long in the making. Let’s get to the point. Cleaning an ALL USGI parts rifles suck when it is time to break the whole thing down (NOT a bore clean) I am talking after around count of 300-400 rounds. Those that own M14’s and Garands that are all USGI parts know that they are 90% grease and do not need cleaned like an AR15/AR10. Completely different Gas System, op-rod, operating spring bolt etc. those carbon up differently. As the story goes~ I have used in my 55 years of shooting, WWII, Vietnam, era rifle grease out of the can. Hey, was good enough back then, right? This type of grease is still available if you want to pay and remember that grease gets thicker in extremely cold weather. So probably back in the early 2000’s I started using Lubriplate, again good grease for a USGI rifle. But, still what a nightmare to strip and clean. Time to do some soaking to remove all the grease. Couple years back I was shooting at Camp Perry, and this came up among the military rifle class shooters. A fellow shooter started talking to me about the Mil-Comm TW25B Gun Grease. The gentleman was younger than me and told me how it was issued when he was in the military. So, I purchased a tube and let me tell you I have no issues with my M14/Garand. Being the wintertime that is the best time for me to thoroughly clean my USGI weapons. No soaking, just spray down the grease parts with what ever you use Brake Kleen Gun scrub etc. Anyone that reads this please understand I would never tell a fellow shooter how to clean or lubricate their weapon, but just like anything else with technology changes. This was just my finding between USGI grease and the new technology of grease today. I have read reviews that this may separate, I cannot speak on this because I squeeze this out in a cup and apply generally with a brush. I can only speculate why I have had no problems with TW25B; I thoroughly removed all the existing grease from all my parts prior to applying the TW25B. Lock-and-Load.

I've been using this grease nearly exclusively for the period of 2015 to about 2020. I recently switched to a different brand but I used tw25b for grease nearly exclusively for about 5 years. I used it mainly on 1911s and AR15s with a piston or DI. With that said, I find this product works really well. It is a solid product that goes on well. After I clean my rifle or pistol, I use the grease all over with a brush including the bore. I then use wipes and patches to clean off the excess. It leaves behind a nice shine that protects the metal. I then use the brush for spot greasing that I leave behind. I mainly target the railing or contact points of the rifle or pistol. Here's what I found: Positives: - It works really well on pistols and pistons. You can see the film where the bolt or slide goes and you can see it is shiny and wet. - The weapon never fails even when it doesn't look like the film is on there. Negatives: - The grease dries up pretty quick in over a week. If I look at the slide after a week, it doesn't look like there's anything on it. - On my DI rifle, after shooting I am not able to see the film anymore on the rifle. - It's pretty expensive but a 4oz tube will last you a very long time.

I’ve been using this product for the past few years over standard CLP and firearms oils. I’ll attend firearms training classes and put 2,000 rounds down range over the course of two or three days, in both the cold of winter and the heat of summer. This product keeps on going and rarely do my firearms malfunction using it. I DON’T use it to lubricate the triggers nor the backends of my P320s’ FCU’s; it’s just too viscous for those small parts, IMHO. But I use it everywhere else on the firearm that has metal on metal. Also, it doesn’t leak from the sides like normal oil where the firearm has to be wiped down after application. Not a big advantage but a nice one, nonetheless.

This is without a doubt the best grease on the market for lubricating guns. Since I discovered this grease used by the military, I use very little gun oil on my guns, and my guns stay so much cleaner than they did. Carbon and other contaminations tend not to stick to guns lubricated with this grease. It seems to be absorbed by the metal of the gun leaving it with an apparent dryness that remains slippery. Thus, it is not sticky like regular grease, and this keeps contaminants from sticking to it. I use a Dremel tool to work it into the metal, and then I use a Dremel to buff it to a bright and shiny finish. There is no metal on metal wear or abrasion when I am finished. It is like dry metal on dry metal except it is very slippery. I still have all my other oils and slide greases, but I rarely use them -- actually, I pretty close to never use them anymore.

Normally i prefer to use oil but this stuff is not bad at all...
