Easy to use IIC Display
I bought this display to work with a Raspberry Pi Pico. Followed the instructions and it worked first time. Just watch out for the contrast adjustment on the back of the module.The display is supplied with patch leads to work with either a Pico with male header pins or a breadboard.The information in the ZIP file is very clear. Idiot-proof wiring diagrams, instructions for loading the Python driver file and example programs that work!

Very nice display
Excellent quality screen, very clear, no backlight flickering and well put together. I have it happily running off the 3.3V line on an esp32 s3. These are great for that retro LCD look! I have the refresh rate at 0.5 seconds for scrolling on the bottom line, the second and third lines change displayed data once every 5 seconds(offset from each other) and the time on the top line. All transitions are crisp and as good as could be expected from this type of display. Great for learning about displays and creating fun projects to display your data!

Works well but difficult to set up
The display itself is of good quality and when adjusted correctly, it's bright and sharp.Quality control was not 100% - the backlight brightness was turned up full, so that characters did not display at all. I thought it wasn't working until I figured that the backlight needed turning down.Software library on the Freenove website is impossible to install, especially for the STM32 series of boards.I tried with an Arduino Leonardo and found a suitable library to make it work.It's cheap for what it is, especially as it come with an I2C adaptor, so I guess a little inconvenience having to research the beast is acceptable.If I ever get it to work on an STM32WL55JC board, I'll probably buy a few more for further projects.

Finally, a supplier that actually provides instructions. Trouble-free setup and use.
I don't usually review these small electrical components, but I feel I must commend the suppliers of this LCD module to provide a web link to a comprehensive set of instructions/tutorials/example sketches with their product. It's so rare these days to actually get any information on how to wire and setup these items, and you usually spend days trying to figure it out. Such a breath of fresh air to have the information given with the product - I wish every supplier did it. When I'm looking for Arduino modules from now on, this supplier will be at the head of the list.

Display arrived damaged
Display appeared to be packaged well with no obvious damage to the box or packaging, but when display was removed from the protective bag, it was obvious that the display has had something sharp in contact with the display. I hoped it was only damage to the protective film across the display, but when peeled off, it has gone all the way through and damaged the surface of the screen itself.Looking at the packaging and the location of the damage, I would say the damage happened before it was sealed in the bag. Disappointing!

Overall good but poorly put together
I bought four of these for a project, using them together with Micropython on a Raspberry Pi Pico.The devices consist of a main board plus a small "backpack" board with the I2C circuitry. The backpack is soldered to the main board. On every one of the boards I received, the backpack was skewed at an angle to the main board- see picture (I have some of these boards from a different supplier and the backpack boards are parallel with the main board as they should be). Also, every one of the boards had some bent pins.On the other hand, all the boards worked just fine. Also, the examples and libraries on the Freenove website are very useful.Docked a star for the poor quality control but otherwise all fine.

This display worked as expected. However, mine didn't come with a jumper on the display backlight control. Otherwise, fully functional with perfect display quality.
