Great Easel
This easel is great, especially for the price compared to other easels that I have seen. I have used 18x24" canvases as well as 11x14 and it holds both very well. The tilt is awesome and the height is just right for me (I'm 5'10). It is fairly large but definitely well built. My only two complaints are:1. It shakes ever so slightly but not enough to really hurt anything.2. The top bolt where you tighten in your canvas is not set into the frame. This means that you can only finger tighten it unless you have pliers around to hold the bolt head to keep it from turning.

awesome easel!
Cant say anything bad about this product. Very sturdy design and great looking. The fact that it can become a table top easel is a plus. I bought mine from CSN store and it came within three days and no extra shipping costs! The assembly wasn't trouble at all. It came partially assembled. If you're under six feet, the legs won't have to be raised. If you're like me six-one and taller the first tab will be sufficient. Bob had his at the highest setting. He was a tall man. The selling point for me is in how the canvas isn't restricted u can paint right to the edge. Can hold 8x10 up to 24x24 or 24 x 48!!! A must have!

Good Painting Easel - Best Price Anywhere
A good, heavy-duty painting easel. This unit weighs quite a bit and, for the uninitiated, could be intimidating to assemble. Mine had a wobbly leg, which I was able to adjust and repair, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. I especially love the screws used to hold the canvass in place! I highly recommend.

Worth the expense if you're serious. Best one I've bought.
Puts all others to shame. Absolutely love the way you can adjust angle of canvas and how well the canvas is held...a great system.I wasted money buying 2 diff tripod types, which absolutely sucked if you use any pressure at all. But not this one. This by far is worth the money if you are serious or want to be. My brush control has improved greatly by having a quad-legged base. and you can just lift the top part out to use on table top or whatever. It's alot of money...which did hold me back far to long....but finally I made the right decision. Dont hesitate it's worth it.

This is just what I was looking for!
I recently started my journey with oil painting and I have to say I enjoy it much more than acrylic painting. I have been following along with Bob and it has been great! The wet on wet technique is really wonderful. I have gotten to the point I know this is a hobby I plan to continue, so I had to look at supplies. All of the other easels I found with the shelf and functionality were much more expensive. I wasn't really wanting a wooden french easel or anything like that and I really liked Bobs setup. I was concerned because of reviews that this could arrived damaged, but mine was a double boxed and everything was secure. No damage and very easy to put together. I see using this for years ahead.Update 2022: this easel has held up great over the years and haven’t had any issues with it. Great investment 👍Update: 2024: Still holding up well!

Love my Bob Ross Easel.
The first one I ordered got lost in shipping, but Amazon refunded my money so I turned around and ordered another one, and I got it and was very pleased with it.

LOVE THIS EASEL
LOVE THIS EASEL...the first one I had for several years and sold it before moving. Now in my new residence I decided I couldn't live without this great easel. It is easy to use and converts to a tabletop. I like the shelf for my brushes and knives while I am working and the hole for the brush cleaner is wonderful...keeps everything right in front of you as you paint. The easel holds the canvas (and it is adjustable) at a perfect spot for me. I am 5'6" ...if you are shorter you may feel that the canvas is too high or out of reach...then you might remove the top piece and set it on a table. I use to remove the top section of the easel and place it on my kitchen counter top...worked great too.

Not perfect, but better than any other easel I've used
The good: this is the best easel I've ever used. The less good: it's still not perfect. The best thing about this easel is the way it holds the canvas. There's no lower lip that makes it awkward or impossible to work on the lower half of your canvas, and there's no upper lip covering the top of the face of your canvas (seriously, who designs those other easels? People who don't paint, obviously). Instead your canvas is screwed into two bars below and above it, keeping the surface completely available to you. This thing is *fairly* sturdy - but it could be better. I'm not worried about it falling over, but it does wobble a bit - you may not have that issue, however. One of the legs on mine is kind of loose. My easel arrived missing one of the nut and bolt sets, so I had to go to the hardware store and buy some. That was very annoying, but not worth the hassle of trying to send it back or anything. Hopefully that won't happen to you.Oh, and the large shelf that goes in the easel is a VERY, very handy thing to have. I like that a lot.To sum it up, I do recommend this as long as you don't expect absolute perfection. In fact, I would probably give it 5 stars if it hadn't shown up missing hardware.
