Can this coating be painted after applied?

The passivation achieved when using Cirtisurf does not inherently change the surface such that painting is no longer possible. Anecdotally, we do have reports that some adhesives do tend to adhere and stick better on a passivated surface, indicating a smoother surface. You would still need to prepare the surface properly for paint, such as etching. Passivation does not substitute for etching. Sorry we don't have specific testing to give you a definite answer. We recommend you test yourself on a small or test area to be sure you are comfortable with the results before proceeding.

I want to passivate the stainless steel portion of my motorcycle exhaust. should i polish and buff the section first or after i use citrisurf 77?

After. The Citrisurf removed the rust well but we used a stainless steel appliance cleaner to clean the residue.

Can Citrisurf be used on stainless steel exhaust headers and pipe from a 4 cylinder motorcycle to remove corrosion and rust? Spray or gel?

I'd use the gel, since the thinner liquid will roll off easier and you want the surface to stay soaked for the application time. Depending on the level of corrosion, Citrisurf may not be able to take it all off. If you can remove it from the headers, Citrisurf will absolutely passivate it for future protection.

Removes stains without a lot of work.

This worked great for removing rust stains from my Cybertruck. Nothing else I tried made a difference but this worked the first time. I used the recommended scotchbright pad and let it set for 20 minutes. I was going to take a star off because it is expensive (I used half the bottle) but it worked when nothing else did. Bonus is that the whole truck looks practically brand new.

Spray cap comes off in use

Product works great. However the spray top, it feels tight, it comes off while spraying. I lost half the liquid as it fell to the ground while on a ladder. At $38 it’s quite disappointing.
