Failed after less than 3 months.
Had this compressor installed by a reputable mechanic. After less than 3 months it failed - no air conditioning and grinding noises at the clutch. Disassembled clutch plate and discovered compressor shaft spline and clutch plate spline were completely smooth and ground off. Compressor was still spinning freely and the pulley bearing was also good. Assume defective parts used for construction. It initially looked really good and the air conditioning was working well before it failed.

Fits 2016 crosstrek
For some reason, 2016 and 2017 Crosstrek are unique? This item came at a decent price and perfect fit. The external finish was very nice, no documentation or product label was provided, but packaging and port seals were high quality. The unit came with internal oil charge but the sheet metal bracket shown in pictures was missing. (very easy to reuse the original part). The four factory bolts to mount the unit were extremely tight, but easy to reuse as would be expected. Recommended component, easy to change except for tight factory bolts. Will now see if it holds up in use

Works great in our 2015 Subaru Forrester
The air conditioning compressor in our 2015 Subaru Forrester went out and this was a perfect replacement. I've been using it almost every day for more than a month and it's still working great. The workmanship on the pump looks excellent.

Seems great, for a great price.
First one that arrived the oil had leaked out. Not sure if it was damaged in shipping or something else. The second one was great. Adjusted the oil and easily installed and recharged it on a 2016 crosstrek. Went from no cooling to great cooling for a great price!

Faulty Subaru Impreza Ac compressor
"As an owner of a Subaru Impreza, I am deeply disappointed with the performance of the AC compressor. It has been nothing short of a nightmare. Not only does it fail to adequately cool the car, but it also emits a loud and irritating noise, reminiscent of a dying animal.Despite multiple trips to the mechanic and attempts at repairs, the issue persists, leaving me sweating profusely during hot summer drives. It's frustrating to have to endure such discomfort, especially considering the premium price tag that comes with Subaru vehicles.Furthermore, the reliability of this component is seriously questionable. It's unacceptable to encounter such a significant and recurring problem in a relatively new car. The AC compressor has been a constant source of frustration and disappointment and it leaking oil plus the clutch not working. I would strongly advise potential buyers to thoroughly consider this flaw before making a purchase."

It works well
I have a wrx, and the a/c works just fine, on the video I show with the a/c on and off.

Measure and add oil as needed
Most inexpensive unit I could find, no issues installing it, was very quiet. I advise you make sure it has 3 ounces minimum in the compressor before you install. I'm a professional so I also suggest DIY'ers look on internet for guidance. So far so good with the performance
