The Rational Bible: Deuteronomy

Adquiri os quatro volumes da série The Rational Bible. É muito interessante estudar o Pentateuco pelo ponto de vista judaico, especialmente alguém como Denis Prager. Mal posso esperar para completar a leitura de todos os livros. Encadernação lindíssima!

One thing Dennis Prager knows for sure: A LOT of Christians read his commentaries! He's regarded as an evangelical Jew and friend of Christians. He may well have more Christian readers than Jews. It is hugely helpful to get a Jewish perspective when studying the Torah. It is evident that Dennis regards Scripture as God's authoritative word. But the main reason to read this is that it is outstanding exposition. I've read a ton of commentaries, and few are as clear and well-written as Prager's. He brings out truths that most don't cover, and while I occasionally disagree, I find his remarks extremely helpful. One highlight is the frequent side-bar sections, where he interjects comments on issues raised by the text. Most people who use commentaries have them as reference works; in other words, they don't pick them up and read them all the way through. Nearly everyone I know who uses Prager's commentaries reads them cover-to-cover. I think reading a chapter a day is a great supplement to one's daily devotions. Let's hope Dennis completes the 5 books of Moses!
