Great everyday carry knife
Been looking for a good everyday carry knife that is not tactical looking or heavy. More in the camping or Bush Craft style. I saw the price on this Old Timer and watched a few review videos and decided to get one. The knife came in quick and in good condition. No issues with brass pins, lose knife blade or saw blade. Knife was sharp out of the box and everything works well. The leather sheath is of good quality leather and craftsmanship. I do recommend for its price but also because it is a good everyday carry knife depending on what you do on a day to day period. I will use it for everyday activities, camping, and hiking. I do carry a tactical knife for self defense as well.

Very nice, as advertised.
I have never been a big fan of Schrade's Delrin Knives. I saw a review of both this the 97, and the 96. So I got both. This, the 97 comes with a pouch. The 96 does not. A bit silly as they are both almost exactly the same size. The Delrin is only slightly different. I love both. I like the Tweezers and Pick. They fit well into the frame and of course I broke a nail trying to get them out. So yeah, they are quite secure! No worries of them falling out! I know Delrin is virtually indestructible and as a Walk-about knife these are almost perfect! I live in the high dessert and know from experience that pulling cactus spines from your boots (or Dog!) is a LOT easier with a good Spike and Tweezers! I just wish they had included the correct Pouch with the 96!

Well made
I bought one of these from another company, it had light scratches on the handles even though it was sealed in the package and the knife blade didn't snap shut. There was a brass shaving that I couldn't remove next to the liner and handle. I sent it back and ordered from Amazon, this one had better color, no scratches and the blades snapped both ways. I am pleased with this knife, I wish they were still made in USA. No country of origin was on the knife but marked China on the box. This is a nice knife though and has a nice leather sheath.

Nice knife, terrible tweezers.
The knife itself is a great item. The blade is sharp out of the box, as is the saw, which is also very sturdy and a very effective tool. The back of the saw is a very effective ferro rod scraper. The only problem is with the tweezers, which appear to be made from recycled aluminum soda cans. They are flimsy and pretty much useless. Here is an update. First, I purchased this primarily for the saw blade. It is very sharp, but the teeth are too coarse for making fine cuts. My SAK is much more useful. The Buzzsaw Trapper has a liner lock safety feature. On my knife the saw blade locks open, but the knife blade does not. The liner lock is not fitted properly. And, as mentioned in my first review, the tweezwes are pretty much useless. When Schrades were made in the USA they were good knives. I have an Old Timer Trapper model, which is the same knife but without the saw and locks, and that knife is a great outdoors tool, for camping, hunting and fishing.

Surprisingly nice.
The saw on this knife is pleasure to use for making traps, snares and such. Pretty easily 1/2” longer stroke than most others I’ve seen or used takes good edge on blade. Only con would be handle a little squarer than older Usa built Old Timers. All in all good value on a useful tool

Surprisingly high quality.
They used to be American made, but got sent to China now. That said, I was surprised by the quality of this knife. It was well beyond my expectations. It came shaving sharp...literally. The blade has smooth, crisp action. The saw locks, and also has smooth, crisp action, with sharp, well made, teeth. Priced in the $20's it's well worth the price. I recommend it, and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

Terrible quality control
This was a great example of terrible quality control. I don't mind adjusting or fixing a knife that I didn't pay a lot for. But this was too much. The saw blade had enormous burrs on every tooth. Some of the teeth weren't actually sharp all the way to the tip, presumably because the tooling that was used to cut the teeth was so dull and mangled it couldn't properly cut all of the angles it was supposed to, leaving a lot of extra steel on the tips of the teeth. The bar that's supposed to lock the saw open was too long to actually lock it open, failing easily. I didn't have high expectations when I ordered this knife, but this was really terrible.

Nice quality, reasonable price.
This is an excellent knife and has a very effective saw blade. It arrived with a sharp, useable edge on the hollow ground blade that was just this side of shaving sharp. I'm not too sure what I'll do with the steel toothpick but the tweezers appear to be useable for splinters &c. I was reluctant to pay this much for a pocket knife but I like the brand and needed a smaller saw for trap triggers and the like. I think this will do nicely for my EDC when in the woods and will definitely be on my list of items for my BOB.

Geht also wieder zurück.
