Gardena Classic wall-Fixed Hose Reel 60 with Hose Protection Guide: for Simple wall-mounting, with Anti-drip Device, Angled Connection, high Capacity, Space-Saving (2650-20)

It is a little tricky to assemble, but it is also fairly straightforward once you have read through the diagrams. For me it was easy. Others might not agree, but we are not all equally capable. It is smooth to operate, full flow without restrictions, mainly down to the clever internal connector with is a breath of fresh air compared to HL version with the spring!!! Yes it is a bit more expensive, but quality shines through and if you want a hose reel to last and survive the abuse it can be subject to, by the Gardena version any day. Love it

Having moved house with a fair bit of gardening to do in addition to washing cars etc I was persevering with an old trolley type hose reel that was proving cumbersome to unwind and rewind and was cluttering the drive. Did a lot of research intially with Hozelock product but because of the site of my tap couldnt find a suitable solution. The Gardena reel was the product I decided upon. Easy to assemble and attach to the wall with the fittings provided. Whilst it doesnt come with a hose or hose fittings I am using the old Hozelock ones (and hose) which work fine. I may invest in the proper Gardena ones so everything matches. As I say using the hose is suddenly a lot less labour intensive so its thumbs up from me

After ordering a 30m SuperFLEX hose from Gardena it suddenly struck me when researching that it's actually quite hard to buy a decent hose-reel that doesn't include a hose with it. Most of them are built in. This was the first and most promising one I found. The fact it was from Gardena a brand I own various garden items from made my purchase. It's not cheap - around £60 - especially when you consider you need to buy a separate hose connection which can cost an additional £15+ (for the Gardena one) as well. That said, I'm a little fed up of using the well known "yellow brand" for years and having their kit fall apart after a year or so. This feels pretty solid. I'd guess some sort of ABS plastic. It comes in several parts, and is a little tricky to put together, mainly around the area you have to "plumb in" the main hose connection. It took a bit of force to make sure it was seated properly, but it seems pretty solid once all together. There is a wall plate that you need to fasten onto the wall via the supplied screws. This means you can then lift the hose-reel on and off the wall at your convenience. It doesn't have to always be fixed there. The bracket is low profile enough to not be an eyesore when left there. The reel holds up to 60m of 13mm hose I believe, so it was more than enough for my 30m. It feels strong on the wall. it winds in well, especially when used in conjunction with the included angled hose guide you can fasten to the wall separately. This guide also helps to prevent your hose from kinking. That in itself feels of good, solid quality. There is a carry handle which has convenient hose-lock points on each side to tidy up your hose when not in use. It'll also prevent any water retained in the hose from spilling when moved. It's great, and has done the job nicely despite my preference being one that has the hose held internally. I've removed a star just for the price. Simply because I think at this price it should include the connection hose too. It's a relatively small criticism though. We've been using it all summer and have had no complaints about the integrity of the item itself yet. Still going strong as I hope it will for years to come.

Very pleased I bought this item. It replaced another new wall fixed hose reel that was really difficult to use. This is well designed. The design of the rotating link and the drum to prevent kinking, the fact this can be detached from the wall mounted bracket to protect the item from frost, the quality of the wall fixings, the hose guide that can be used on flat walls or corners, and at any angle. I have 40 meters of hose on the reel and there is certainly enough space for another 20. The drum diameter is sufficient to make it easy to reel in the hose and the little handle is adequate and firm at the moment. I suspect that with time it will become brittle but we will see.

I have had HL wall hosepipe reels in the past, the first one lasted years before the plastic got brittle but the last one has constantly leaked and dripped and I was fed up of the poor design and not being able to tighten parts up enough to stop the leaks. Time to try another brand and design, hence a tryout of this Gardena Classic Wall Fixed Hose Reel. It was a simple construction and I was pleased to find the 2 connectors were male fittings, one for the inlet and one for the hose connection as they don’t usually give way to leaking. I had to tighten both up slightly to get a strong fit. Then I used two ‘push on’ brass connectors that are easily fitted to my hose and tightened up fully. Once plugged into the hose reel and the tap turned on I was glad to find all was fit for purpose. The tap stays on with a good water pressure and at last there’s no drips or leaks evident

This item is fine except the front black plate with the name on it was missing. As it was a Christmas present I was not aware of this until it was opened at Christmas. It is now too late to return it. It has been put up on the wall and it will serve its purpose but I am disappointed that it is not complete. I wonder if it is possible for the company to post me the plate separately. Jackie

Really well designed and works fine. Hadn’t realised it can be removed as a cassette for winter storage. The couplings and head flow way better than my older hose lock version.

Nice reel, bit of flex on it when rolling up due to the plastics but also due to the way it's mounted to the wall means it's more secure at the base than the top. But I have no worries around that. But I do have a complaint about it's supposedly capacity, I'm using a 25M 3/4 Hose (Gardena High Flex) and it claims to hold 35M. Now I've cut maybe 2-3M off my hose for links, meaning I'm running 22M *maybe* and unless reeled up immaculately the hose snags on the handle, for real world use id say 20M is the comfortable limit with a 3/4 Hose. Winding is easy enough although there's nothing clever going on here to keep it neat as with all these wind up reels it's a manual job to keep it from bundling up. I'm using all generic Gardena fittings with mine and I've so far had not a single drip or water so I'm happy on that front too. All in all, good reel and while a scary seeing all the pieces in the box it's really quite easy to assemble and included fixings are of good quality and well upto the job.

Mi pare davvero un buon prodotto (forse leggermente caro), finora tutto ok, non ci sono gocciolamenti strani e ha tutte le caratteristiche per considerarlo un buon acquisto. Ottima e comoda anche la possibilità di staccare l'intera bobina dal muroe riporla all'interno nei mesi feddi in cui non si usa.
