Laura in the Kitchen: Favorite Italian-American Recipes Made Easy: A Cookbook
O**A
An unpretentious everyday cookbook, just be aware the measurements are in Cups!
For those who already subscribe to Laura in the Kitchen's videos over on Youtube, this book will be exactly what you'd expect. More of Laura's bubbly personality, an easy laid back approach and a great meal at the end of it. To those who are new to Laura in the Kitchen - this cookbook is filled with great recipes, all with Laura's trademark American/Italian fusion. As I'm already a Laura in the Kitchen fan, I did have some concerns that this would simply be a written version of lots of recipes I had already seen over on Youtube. This is not the case! There are a few old favourites, but the bulk of the content is new and never before seen. The first few pages include some great base recipes for day to day use. Including things like a classic tomato sauce, a Marinara sauce and a basil pesto. It also describes a break down of a basic pantry which is very handy for new cooks. Overall this doesn't just give you recipes, it introduces you to a whole different style of cooking in a simple, concise way. There are lots of time-saving tips here to get you in the kitchen every day of the week. The recipes themselves are easy to follow, even for beginners. The photos accompanying them are vibrant and appealing. This isn't a fussy cookbook using 100 different ingredients that you'll have to hunt high and low for. It's a good, hearty staple cook book with homely recipes like Ham, Pea and Gorgonzola Bow Tie Pasta, Spaghetti Carbonara, Margherita Pizza etc. It also has some more decadent special meals, as well as breakfasts, brunches and cakes and biscuits. The only down side for me is that the measurements are in American cups. Something important to be aware of if you don't own cups or don't like recipes in this format. It's very simple to convert into grams, but still something worth considering. This is a great collection of Italian style recipes, presented in a clear and concise way for even the most nervous of cooks. Its laid back, friendly approach coupled with easy to find ingredients make this an instant hit in my household.

It was ok
Love this lady’s cooking recipes. Some are my family favourites... I always luv her recipes. Always checking her recipes through YouTube so though it would be a good idea to buy the book instead. But unfortunately Couldn’t find any of my favourite recipes in this book. Not even one . I guess I still have to check in YouTube every time when I’m cooking...Les recipes than I expected.

Excellent
We have been following Laura since finding her on a certain video channel. Her meatloaf is to die for! Cant wait for the next book and I totally agree with her, if there is already a product in the market place (i.e. ready made pastry) use it!!!!
