what is the best way to wash brush after they are soiled with breakdust and muck ?

The worst thing I did was use this brush. In soapy water you won't see the sharp edge and the vendor does not describe this. I ruined perfectly new chrome rims. There are plenty of other options.

Yea it is stiff enough to reach way back, but don't expect it to be a clean operation, because the bristles are so stiff, it flings everything everywhere, especially scrubbing between the caliper and wheel

Will this brush scratch my aluminum wheels?

While I haven't used it (and I don't have aluminum wheels), I'd bet it won't. While my inexperience with it probably isn't very comforting, when I got it, I rubbed it up against my face. It wasn't the softest thing ever but it wasn't uncomfortable. You'll be fine and I'm looking forward to using it on my wheels and those of the other cars I work on.
