Read Yourself More Together
At first this appeared to be a potentially useless book as the author doesn't seem to have credentials related to psychology and goes into being a recovering alcoholic (eye roll, sorry), BUT the exercises are helpful and even innovative at times. I like this book--it pretty much brings together all those mind tricks that you've read about in different places into one resource. It also attempts to hold the reader accountable, which is nice.

Got tired of reading the word "hack"
Good info and suggestions, I just got tired of reading the word "hack" over and over as it is so trendy. Wondering if in 20 years the author will do an update with a different trendy word like "tip", "trick" or something else to just say "method". A good read if you're not bothered by overly hip text that may be badly dated by the next young generation. If you've ever read Norman Vincent Peale this might make sense. Some people love the hip jargon of the times, some get bogged down in it. Not a bad book, but Rise of Superman is better if you're only going to buy one self-improvement book.

Great
This book was well done overall. It was written by a software coder/geek and he had an interesting way of framing things. I enjoyed a lot from this book, but got bored towards the end. I find a lot of books “write” for the sake of writing and I feel like all books could be condensed more. Would still recommend this book, epically to those who need help with “removing faulty thought loops”

Sir Hargraves is now on the required reading list!!
If you've read Prank the Monkey, you know what a great author Hargraves is. I bought this because I loved the Zugg comedy and have always been a follower of the things John is doing. I was NOT disappointed! This book blends the kind of pragmatic real world comedy I love from Sir Hargraves, and also delivers the intellectual hackery that the title boasts in large scale order. BRAVO

I'm a grumpy, stubborn person but this book hacked my mind anyway
Changing habits has got to be the hardest thing a person can do. Habits are so easy to form, I don't even notice I'm forming them until they're creating a real problem for me. This book helped me see how to form habits that not only aren't holding me back, but are good! That might sound simple, but for me it isn't at all. I'm a grumpy, stubborn person, but I have to admit that once I got into the swing of making better personal choices it kind of started to be a hobby in and of itself. It's funny how I know something to be true, but I don't want to act on it until someone says it to me in the right way, and that's exactly what I got out of this book.

John gives lots of actionable insights to upgrade yourself. If you are from programming background then you will connect and resonate with you more quickly. Even if you are not from programming background you have lot to take away

I haven't finished reading it, and probably no where near hacking my mind, but the book grabbed me immediately, and I read a little bit almost every day.
