Great versatile piece of kit
This knife arrived in a blister pack with an open middle, which made the extraction of the item easy. Especially given that you normally need one of these knifes for those packs!!! The knife itself comes with the blades safely stored in the back end of the knife. There are no instructions on how to retrieve the blade and then insert it for use. Then again its simple to do. Just undo the screw in the middle take the top off and then place the first blade into the track. Reattach the top and screw back in and you are good to go. The blades are sharp and it doesnt retract when faced with things that are more difficult to cut.All in all a great item that does exactly what you need it to do.

Lovely knife. Feels right in your hand while using. Like the quick blade change and the built in box cutter as well. Price bit steep but I think well worth it.

Cost effective good sturdy little knife.
I purchased this knife without reading all the reviews, the first 3 are positive and then it goes downhill. Well not a bad little knife, I have actually rated it 4 stars. It would be really helpful if there were instructions on how to assemble the blades. I had to return to the Amazon reviews to get the instructions on how to put together. Whilst assembling, the knife did not fall apart and it was quite easy to install the blade. I have used it once to cut carpet and its great, the hold is perfect and sturdy and the blade is sharp. It cuts through carpet with ease. Not sure what the red button is for, kept pressing it and nothing happened. I usually purchase name brand items, but learning fast that products without brand names can do the job, just a well. This is a good little knife and first use, did what I purchased it to do, at a faction of the price.Instructions: The blades comes inside the knife - 4 in total. Open the screw, remove it fully. Take blade out and insert one blade into the top. Whilst open, ensure that the blade can retract - when it does just screw the knife back together again. I am not very good with this kind of thing, however I found it really easy. Cost effective good sturdy little knife.

Rubbish Design
As described by others, knife falls apart when you initially open it to get the first blade - awkward beyond belief to try and put it all back together - not ideal when you want to efficiently carry out work.Item is going in the bin as it is utter garbage.

This is a very well designed unit and has a very robust design - a solid piece of kitArrives with spare blades ( be very careful when mounting as they are obciously sharp)Easy fit blade mounting mechanism - slots straight in to the unit and job doneButton at the top allows the blade to be retracted and extractedThe spare bladed are also stored inside the handleShould last for years, will seeAs I do not use this as a professional user ( i.e. every day for hours a day ) , I can only comment from a domestic user perspectiveVery nice product

No Instructions! Watch the Am-tech first.
Comes with no instructions, so when I unscrewed it to get the stored blades out it fell apart. I struggled to put it back together so went on to the Am-tech website and, after a little bit of search, came across a video explaining how it works and how to re-assemble. Now back together again and working fine.

Not 100% happy but it does the job
Does the job but when it arrive there was nothing to say that the blade was changed by pulling the blade out from the front and replacing it the same way. Ii ended up taking ii apart to change the blade and spending an hour working out how it went back together also the rubberized handle was a bit flaky on one side.

Simple
No folding or unfolding, just slide forward with the thumb, much safer.
