Well made and sturdy
The media could not be loaded. Used this to plant snowdrops and daffodils in my lawn for a naturalised look in Spring. It was hard to press down at first as I’m only little but someone taller and heavier would’ve done it much easier but once you master the technique you become quicker at it. I found it actually better planting in grass than in a soil border. The kit gets delivered in pieces and is easy to put together with the instructions and all the spanners. There are spare nuts and bolts. I found that after the first few bulbs I needed to tighten it up a bit but this was not a problem. It even came with a set of gardening gloves. Hoping the bulbs with put on a nice display next year.

Colwelt Bulb Planter Tool Long Handle, Serrated Base Bulb Planters Gardening Bulb Transplanter with
- The long handle on this bulb planter is a lifesaver for my back. No more bending over and straining, which makes planting so much more enjoyable.- The serrated base is a clever design feature. It cuts through the soil with ease, even in tougher spots, making the whole process quicker and less of a hassle.- I really appreciate the soft grip. It’s comfortable to hold, even after a long planting session, and it doesn’t leave my hands feeling sore.- This tool feels sturdy and well-made. It seems like it can handle a lot of use without falling apart, which is exactly what I need for my gardening projects.- One thing that could be better is the weight. It’s a bit heavier than I expected, which can be tiring after a while.- The size of the hole it digs is sometimes a bit too small for larger bulbs, so I have to go over the same spot a couple of times.- It would be nice if it came with a depth gauge or marker to help ensure consistent planting depth, especially for someone who’s not a pro gardener.

Great Invention
I didn’t know such a thing existed until I read a Gardening Magazine which was reviewing Long Handled Bulb planters, stating ‘Effortless Gardening in 2024’.I cross referenced their reviews to those of the same product on Amazon and decided on this ‘Colwelt Planter’ as it ticked all of my boxes:-- A decent height of 37 inches- All solid metal, some reviews commented that those with wooden handles either snapped or were not firmly attached- The base had a serrated edge which would make it easier to cut into the earth plus there was a foot pedal so you could use all your body weight to push down- I liked the fact that it lifts out the plug of soil, which can easily be replaced once a bulb / bulbs have been planted.- Although I wasn’t too sure about the planter being self assembly. But no problems at all, screws, nuts and tools were provided together with detailed instructions - Within minutes I had a sturdy piece of equipment. It was really easy to use and quick once I’d got the knack of it, all of my bulbs planted effortlessly.Excellent piece of kit at a very reasonable price and it feels like it should last for years.

Made garden planting a breeze
The media could not be loaded. After years of dealing with Manchester's tough soil, this tool has finally made planting bulbs a more enjoyable task. It's a lifesaver for those challenging garden jobs, especially when trying to plant daffodils and snowdrops. As a taller bloke measuring at 6'4", I found it straightforward to press down and cut through the turf, even the most stubborn parts. The assembly was simple, complete with clear instructions and all necessary spanners. It even came with extra nuts and bolts, which is always a nice touch.I used it last weekend to plant some Primulas for the spring and managed to get twelve bulbs snugly in place within fifteen minutes – a record for me! My back and knees are grateful for the minimal strain involved. That said, it might require a bit of tightening after a few uses, but that's hardly a deal-breaker. This sturdy and robust tool genuinely made my garden chores feel less like work and more like a hobby.
