This is how you fit a BU40N ultra slim optical drive in your PC case
This product is well-made, well-engineered and just works. I'm using this to fit a BU40N ultra slim disc drive in a standard 5.25" bay in my PC case. The ODD bay is built in such a way that the optical drive slides in from the front into grooves in the adapter. It is a very snug fit. You then put just one screw into the side of the drive to secure it in the adapter. You could probably get away with not even using the screw b/c of the tight fit. But I put it in anyway for insurance. As a bonus, it will also house a standard 3.5" spinning rust hard drive. Can't remember if it also has the mounting holes for a 2.5" SSD, but it would be easy enough to drill holes or just use Velcro to hold the drive in.Can't say enough good things about this product.

Great Mod for A Fractal Design Focus G Mini
I bought this specifically for the Focus G Mini. It is a cheap case which is very good except for storage options. The hard drive cage at the bottom does not look great and has a few mounting challenges, but is removable. I bought the Flex Fit Trio to put into the 5.25 drive bay at the top of the case, which is not removable. The product itself is well packaged and seems well constructed. I had one 3.5" and 2x2.5" and they all fitted neatly into the kit without good clicks. The kit itself fitted neatly into the top 5.25 bay leaving a useful space underneath. There was no trouble with space and the front panel fitted perfectly afterwards. The only, as ever, challenge was the cabling but it was not particularly difficult and was certainly easier than the original drive bay. Overall I am very pleased with the product, it performs exactly as it states, and is a very reasonable price. It also transforms the inside of the case, makes cabling to the PSU easier, and helps with air flow. No disadvantages found yet.

Best choice!
FLEX-FIT Quattro MB344SPAbsolutely love it! I am ordering another one to add to it. Material is plastic; however, it is very sturdy and high quality. Ventilation is good, installation of drives is simple, mounting the bracket inside a 5.25" drive bay is super easy. Design is modular and can be set up in a number of different positions. Everything in my use is QUIET! Fitment of bracket and of drives is solid with zero rattling noises during operation.I use this in a Fractal Design Arc Midi (the first version) and it works well. I am able to position the bracket forward for airflow as advertised, or further back in order to have it hidden behind the case's drive bay cover. The case's vertical HDD racks were removed for better airflow with less noise and better asthetics, and this drive bracket is used instead.Love it.Highly recommend ICY DOCK products.

Exactly What I Wanted
I'm building an ITX PC with only a single 5.25" bay.To make the absolute best use of this bay for how I use my computer, I realized that I wanted to fit both an optical drive and a memory card reader. This dock, a superslim* CD drive, and a 3.5" card reader, were exactly what the doctor ordered.> The front of the adapter has a horizontal faux-brushed finish.> The box includes ALL the hardware you could possibly want to install a 3.5" hard drive, floppy drive (?!), or accessory into the lower bay, and a superslim optical drive in the upper bay. The screws to install it into your PC are self-tapping, and will require a bit of effort to fully secure. The screw packets are conveniently labeled. It also includes a well-made adapter to connect your slimline ODD to a normal SATA power port. The experience of assembling the product was painless and enjoyable.> There are blanking plates molded out of the plastic in an admirably cost-effective fashion. The 3.5" blanking plate is molded into the plastic between the ODD bay and the 3.5" bay, and inserts into a slot in the base of the ODD bay. It is recessed a bit from the face of the adapter. You can snap it out if you need it, or leave it in there if you don't. It doesn't interfere with installing any parts. The ODD blanking plate is molded onto an extension off the back of the adapter. It inserts from the top, and is flush with the face, with a "disc" faux branding on it. You MAY want to snap it off for appearance, if your case has a window that allows the interior of the adapter to be seen easily. Both blanking plates have a brushed-grain appearance that matches the face of the adapter.*> The Optical bay requires a superslim 9.5mm drive. A "fat" 12.7mm conventional slim drive won't fit. The 9.5mm drive was a bit of a squeeze!

Excellent and imaginative product for utilizing 5 1/4 bays
Really like to fact that you can put mechanical driving in it and to SSD drives! Excellent use of space knowing that the 5 1/4 base just leave a big gaping hole. It’s good to know there are adapters out there where you can make use of that space
