Good value, easy to install
Recently the smoke detectors in our house went haywire! We realized that they hadn’t ever been replaced in the home we had purchased a few years ago. So we need new ones for the entire house. These were easy to install and a good value when having to purchase so many. The wiring was easy to install and so far they are dong great. We haven’t had any trouble since installing them

"Easy insiiation"
The smoke detectors were everything I expected them to be. Very good quality and simple to install. I recommend these to anyone who needs them. It came as a surprise to me that hardwired units also need to be replaced every 10 years, including 9 volt battery back-up units.

Wired Fire Detection
These work well and look clean on a white ceiling. Installed them all within a couple of hours, tested them, and they are plenty loud. Appreciated that they came with the 9 volt battery for each already. The only hiccup (and the reason for one star being knocked off) was they didn't come with twist wire connectors (you need 3 per unit) and we didn't have enough on-hand. Would be nice if they threw some of those into the package so we didn't need to go looking for more in order to install/connect them. Otherwise, these are a fine buy.

Since installing, they have been working with no incidents.
I replaced all wired smoke alarms in my home, 8 in total. They required retrofitting from the previous ones, which included the wiring, mounting ring, and battery. Everything was included and easy to use. Since installing, they have been working with no incidents.

Inexpensive two pack
Of the original two, I was down to one with a dead battery. Stained, ugly and 25 years old, it chirped for better than a year. Even people on the other end of the phone would tell me to replace the battery. It just wasn't worth the risk, climbing the literal "Stairway to Heaven" I call the ladder I own to reach it without replacing it. Put the second one where the empty box it belonged on the other end of the house. They both arrived with Good batteries, tested good and look good. Now maybe I can get some sleep.

Simple to install
This is only the second time i've needed to install smoke detectors in a home. The first time, I was a newer homeowner and "afraid" of doing wiring changes myself - so I bought detectors that were an exact match for what I was replacing, so that the current "plug attachment" that was in the ceiling matched. But now, i've learned it isn't really that hard at all to do to replace the wired harness.Obvious first step is to turn off the circuit breaker that powers the detectors. This was probably the most "annoying" part of the job - because it was on a circuit that didn't make really any sense and I had to try like 6 circuits until i found the right one. I confirmed I had the right one with a "non-contact" voltage tester. Then remove the old detector and mounting plate and that will give you access to the wiring. All you have to do is remove the current wiring nuts for the black, white and "communication" wire - which could be red or yellow. After that wire back in the new harness to the previous locations. I even re-used the original wire nuts.Be sure to install the included 9V battery - and a NOTE - there is a little packet of screws and drywall anchors in the batter compartment. At first I thought it was just some packing material for the battery compartment to hold down the "missing battery lever" that prevents closing the battery door. The only issue I experienced with the installation was that the mounting plate's holes design didn't perfectly match up with the currently installed electrical box, I got it to mount up - but with a bit of cross angle on the mounting screw.Testing after install, they all worked as intended. This was installed on my father-in-law's condo that we were getting ready to sell... and it passed the home inspector's testing, so that's proof they worked well and I installed correctly - LOL!

Direct replacement
This is a great replacement for the original smoke detectors that originally came with the house. Pretty much plug and play.

These were a little difficult to install but hopefully they will keep me alive if needed.
These smoke detectors were not as easy to swap out as I had hoped. I was hoping that I would be able to use the same connector as what I had as they looked similar. No luck on that. I had to turn off the power at the breaker and swap out the wires for the new connectors. I had to drill out the plastic holes in the base plates to get the screws into the box. Once I got everything wired and plugged in, it was a little tricky getting the smoke detector to twist on to the base. The plug in was rubbing against the base and took some effort to get it securely attached. Once I accomplished that, I tested them and they worked. These are made for connectivity to each other so the if one goes off, they all go off if wired correctly for that purpose. Mine are and that worked. I haven't had any actual smoke to cause them to go off so I don't know for sure that they will work in an actual emergency. It does have a UL listed sticker on the back so hopefully it will work when needed. These are probably better than the 25 year old units they replaced.
