One of my Favorite Fishing Combos
I got this combo as a “truck rod”, something to use when on my way home from work. I fell in love with it, and it has quickly become my primary rod, especially for panfish. I have caught catfish, carp, and more bluegill than I can count. Due to its small size, it is a perfect rod for kids, or smaller adults. It’s light weight, casts well, and would make a great canoe rod, truck rod, or just a cheap backup. Due to its size, it can be a bit more difficult to set the hook if there is slack in the line, but after a quick learning curve, it sets wonderful. I have combos that cost 10x+ what this one did, but this has quickly become my favorite. Perfect for casting into brushy areas where my larger rods would get tangled, yet still able to handle BIG fish. Cannot recommend this combo enough!

Not a bad cheapie
5 star cuz I got what I expected. I already knew they lower tier quality. But yet ugly stick quality, I was aware of how crappy a cheap reel can be. Even rod, but still I ordered it. And they came packaged not so well. But in good shape. I could see why they arrive broken. There isn't any packaging material inside the box. That being said it could easily be damaged by being tossed around..the real handles come slightly unscrewed so they can be folded because it's the type of real handle that folds in when it's unscrewed enough so I started wondering about how many reviews were posted by people saying the rods were broken or the reels were broken and essentially they were just all unscrewed if you fished for a long time never service reels, you know how they come apart and how to put them back together so I could see a lot of people saying that they came broken but really they just fell apart in the box, because one of the reels I got today, had a very loose spinning component where the half circular rod is connected that flips over the line. I had to pop the top off by unscrewing the line spool, after that I tightened the loose components. And now they sound and both act accordingly. Iv used cheap poles before, especially the old slingshot line by zebco. I could stand with the best of them with that pole and not even be worried. Sometime cheap actually works surprisingly well. And again, just take care of them, inspect them, tighten any loose components and there you go. As long as you treat it with respect it might last a while. Maybe not as long as the 7 yrs iv got out of the zebco slingshot. And that about 3 days a fishing a week. Sometimes every once in a while I'll land a 30 lb carp on a 10 lb line....so yes the zebco slingshot held it's own. As I expect these 2. If they break during ice fishing I'll come back and edit my review for a possible weak pole construction. Good luck, happy fishing.

Unbreakable Catch!
Finally- A rod my son can’t break. The ultimate for durability. I tried to adjust the photo lighting so you can see the length of the rod. There is a reason everyone recommends an Ugly Stik for beginners and kids. It takes a beating and keeps on fishing. Two fish in one week and zero broken parts is a 10/10 for any parent! It’s perfect for teens because it’s Virtually Indestructible: The graphite and fiberglass blend (Ugly Tech) is incredibly forgiving. It’s also portable and easy to transport without worrying about the tip snapping in the car or on the way to the water. The reel folds in also. It is reliable and it just works. No bells or whistles needed when the build quality is this solid. It has a smooth feel and great castability and there were no missing parts.

Outstanding rod, but I throw out the real and put my own on
Five stars for the rod two stars for the reel. First rod. This is quite a decent little unit. I use mine for the willow crowded stream Banks up in the high mountains. Fishing for trout. The short length allows me to not damage the rod taking it through the willows to get to the streams but also the streams that I fish are not wide maybe maximum 15 ft and I can easily cast a trout spinner like a panther Martin or a rooster tail with this rod and get pretty decent placement. It took me a little while because the rod isn't longer and so you have to use your wrist differently but very quickly I got that dialed in and I really like this thing. Now the reel, I don't think I've come across a crappier reel in a long time. I bought a $5 one on AliExpress made fully out of plastic that works better than this reel. So what am I talking about? I don't know all the technical words but here goes. The part of the real that you wrap your line around on this has a terrible time of staying embedded in the body of the rest of the reel. I unscrewed the tension cap or the dragline tension adjuster and pulled the hopper out and had to reset this using needle nose pliers multiple times sometimes it just unbalances and Wiggles up and down side to side. Other times it's inconsistent and how the bail trips over. If you buy the rod I'd throw out the real and buy yourself a proper one. Hence the four stars. While this rod wasn't designed for how I use it I think this is something I can just throw into the car and because it's a solid little sucker and not telescopic it's a lot stronger at the joints where the telescopic might cause problems. So I'm keeping this rod in my car as an emergency device as well cuz I travel a lot in the backcountry and you never know. I did eventually move up to a 4 ft 6-in ugly stick ultralight because I wanted to be able to get into the streams and cast up or downstream so I needed more whip length to the rod to get it out there. But if you ask me you could still do it with this rod.

I love this little pole and it's definitely fun to catch a decent fish on it.

Good rod for what it is.
For what it is, it is actually a decent little rod. I bought it for a second pole when creek crawling that wont get snagged in brush/ trees. And an easy rod to toss when traveling. My first time out I caught several fish along with a 16" smallie in current. The real isnt great, but its passable.

Small, portable, great for kids!
We bought this to use as a child fishing rod rather than getting the classic character ones that always break or tangle. It was a great choice! He has caught some really large fish with it and it holds up well!

Great Rod and Reel Combo, But Replace the Fishing Line
I am very satisfied with this fishing rod and reel combo. The rod is lightweight, easy to handle, and performs well for shore and dock fishing. I have already caught several fish with it, and the reel works smoothly. It is a great option for beginners and casual anglers. The only downside is the fishing line that comes pre-spooled on the reel. It is not very strong and broke easily during use. I replaced it with a better-quality nylon line, and the setup works much better now. Overall, a good value-for-money fishing combo. I recommend changing the included line before serious fishing.

Caña para laguna
La caña llegó completa pero con un pequeño raspón lo cual no afecta su funcionamiento, es únicamente estético, la recomiendo ya que es una caña muy portátil

Real short rod for bait fishing off the boat and cast pretty good for the length not too stiff or flexy its just right imo

Best first time fishing rod ever.
I highly recommend this for a toddlers firts rod. I was looking for a fishing rod for my 3 year old son and in my search i saw a video on youtube of kids fishing with this rod. I know it might not be the specific purpose it was made for but it lends itself perfectly for a childs fishing rod. My boy loves it and it also withstands the beating only a first time angler can give. He also gets lots of compliments on it. Its quite a cool looking fishing rod.
