This filament looks amazing when printed. The blue and green color change gives the finished prints a shiny, eye-catching appearance. The color transitions are vibrant and glossy, and the silk finish gives prints a premium, eye-catching look straight off the printer. The filament is well packaged and clearly labeled, and we’ve found it to print smooth and clean with good layer adhesion and consistent extrusion. It performs well on standard PLA profiles with minimal tuning and delivers reliable results, even on more decorative models where appearance matters most. That said, there are a few downsides: The price per 1 kg roll is quite high, which makes it harder to justify for large production runs. It goes out of stock frequently, and maintaining par levels can be challenging—both through Amazon supply and when sourcing directly from the manufacturer. Sales and discounts are rare, and it almost never drops in price. Despite these limitations, this filament really shines for specialty and seasonal prints. We don’t use it for everyday production due to cost and availability, but for holiday décor, gifts, and festive prints, it’s a standout option. Overall, we really like this filament and will continue to use it—especially when we want that distinctive Christmas candy cane aesthetic that turns heads.

AMOLEN’s Kingfisher Rainbow Silk PLA is hands down one of the most stunning filaments I’ve ever used. The color transitions are smooth and vibrant — from deep blues and greens to gold and red, it looks like your prints were dipped in metallic light. The silky finish gives everything a polished, professional appearance right off the bed with zero post-work needed. It prints beautifully, too. The filament fed cleanly, no tangles, and adhered perfectly to the bed. I ran it at 205°C on the nozzle and 60°C on the bed, and the layer bonding came out strong with minimal stringing. The rainbow effect looks best on taller or larger prints where the gradient has room to show off — perfect for vases, statues, and display models.

Cons. First of all, Its expensive. My first print was 31 hours. The first layer from the spool popped because of moisture. I did not dry it before I used it. The amount of strings it left on my print where unbelievable, but the strings are really strong. The black filament only left a lot of artifacts in the surface of my print. The blue was smooth. By hour 26 I was getting under extrusion. I let the print finish before I worked on my machine. My nozzle was half blocked with something. Pros. Its strong. I am having a terrible time removing the strings. The layer adhesion is excellent. And it looks cool. I will adjust my slicer settings and try again.

This filament just looked wicked interesting, I just got it in two days ago, and I’m in the middle of printing a ton of Pokémon, trinkets for a friend that he likes to hand out at rave parties. What better than this trippy collar on a Snorlax? Can’t wait to print more things with it. Printed on a X2D.

This stuff prints out great.

Second time buying this color, the only reason it gets a 4 star because you need to use this slick color in a closed up 3d machine.

Easy to print

This filament prints smoothly with minimal stringing, and the glow-in-the-dark effect is impressively bright.

Bel effet de couleur sur ce filament. Bien faire la tour de température et de retraction sur celui ci car pas évident de bien le régler mais une fois fait c'est parfait !
