Consistency is an issue
After hearing great things about these blades on some forums I read, I decided to give them a try. The first blades were great - I really could see why people loved them so much, since you get so many for a great price. But after shaving with them for a few months I've noticed an unfortunate trend: there's really no consistency in terms of sharpness/aggressiveness whatsoever. Sometimes the blades cut like feathers, other times like a derby, and the last blade I got literally wouldn't cut anything. It just tugged on my stubble, leaving everything behind. There doesn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, either. Some of the packs have been great, others have been mixed. They're a good value, but the quality control issues aren't worth it to me.

Better than Feather, best for my face!
I got a Feather in the 16 FEATHER DERBY 7 O'clock ASTRA NACET BIC BLUEBIRD Blade Sampler and was just about ready to decide I'd found my favorite blade. Thanks to another reviewer's comment about BlueBird vs Feather, I pulled out one of the BlueBird blades from the sampler (It has 2 in it), and I believe it is every bit as good, possibly even better than the Feather! Out of all the blades I've had the least number of nicks with the Feather and the BlueBird.I recommend anyone considering a large quantity blade purchase to try the blades first. Reviews cannot help you decide which one will work best FOR YOUR FACE. The Astra blades get gleaming reviews here, but on my face they cut me so badly I had to stop shaving for days just to let my skin heal again. Thanks to the sampler, I have been able to try out all the blades that have top reviews, in my razor, on my face, and decide for myself. For me and my face, the Feather and BlueBird are clear winners and so the obvious choice now is to get BlueBird because they are cheaper and should last through more shaves as well.If you are interested in the rest of the items I use, I prep with hot washcloth, then American Crew Lubricating Shave Oil, 1.7 Ounce , then I've been trying both Proraso Shave Soap, Sensitive, 150ml/5.2 oz (147 g) Jar and Palmolive for Men Sensitive Shave cream with Aloe Vera 100ml . They work equally well, and are both menthol-cool. The trick is to get enough shave soap and not use too much water, otherwise it's too wet and dripping off everywhere as you try to shave. I shake my brush out a couple extra times and then carefully add water a little more at a time if needed after I see how it's lathering up, by getting a little more hot water right where the brush meets the handle and then it just "drips down" the brush into the bowl; the lady at the local Art of Shaving store showed me that trick :-) It takes a little more work to get the more solid Proraso out, and it's harder to get a consistent amount on the brush, so when that is gone I will probably stick with the cream like Proraso Shaving Cream, Eucalyptus & Menthol, 150 ml, New Formulation . I use Edwin Jagger 1ej946sds Traditional English Best Badger Hair Shaving Brush Faux Ebony Medium With Drip Stand, Black, Medium cause I just couldn't stand to spend more on a silvertip, and it does work well. I just use a large 20 oz teacup bowl thing I grabbed out of the kitchen for my lathering bowl. I chose a Merkur Model 180 Long Handled Safety Razor and am happy with this as well. I finish off with The Art of Shaving After-Shave Balm, Sandalwood Essential Oil, for All Skin Types, Packaging May Vary, 3.4 fl oz (100 ml) because it is my favorite smell ever and my wife likes it too.

I was disappointed with the Blue Bird razor blades.
I have strong bear and sensitive skin so I am always searching for excellent quality product. I started with safety razor shaving a couple of months ago and I read the reviews for the Blue bird and decided to give it a try because they say they were sharp and soft. I have used 2 boxes and honestly in my case they feel like sand paper in my face, they irritate my face so I will discontinue to use them. My suggestion stay with Feather they are the only one I have found to be sharp enough to give me a pleased shave with no irritation.

A good workhorse blade
I started wet shaving about a year and a half ago. The first thing I did, and what I would recommend anyone just starting out using a safety razor do, was to buy a variety pack of various brands and types of razors. I tried a lot of different brands of razor before I decided this was my favorite.Your results may vary since everyone's face is different, which is why I say get a variety pack to start off. For me Blue Bird blades where the perfect balance of sharpness and smoothness. I also found the quality of the blades to be very consistent. Some of the other blades I tried, I might have a blade or 2 that worked great, then I'd try a new one of the same type and it would nick me up badly. A lot of other brands just left me irritated or nicked up in general. They don't give as close of a shave as a Feather blade, but Feather blades are one of the sharpest out there. However, in my opinion, they're too sharp for a beginner. You will cut yourself if you don't know what you're doing with them. Even trying them again over a year after I started wet shaving, I wasn't paying attention one day and took a bump clean off.So, I got a 100 count box of Blue Bird razors and used those for well over a year. And at less than 18¢ per blade, it isn't even cost prohibitive to change blades after just a couple shaves so that you aren't trying to shave with a dull razor (which I also do not recommend). After a bout a year of using these, I've now tried Feather again and I can now use them without cutting myself through normal usage. I haven't decided yet if I want to switch to them yet though as I had such a good experience with Blue Bird blades.

You get what you pay for
I bought 100 Blue Bird Blades for $16 + shipping so about $21. It was too good to be true. They are duller than dishwater and literally tore up my face twice! Will return the other 98. They also have Arabic writing on the box.

Some blades are great and last a few shaves
This is a hit or miss, very shoddy quality control on these. Some blades are great and last a few shaves, while others are one use wonders. Doubt I will buy another box of these.

Good razor blades
The first set of blades I received were with my straight razor that I purchased here on Amazon- it came with 7 a.m. blades which I thought were okay, but I didn't have any experience shaving with anything else. I just used the bluebird razors today, and although I can feel a bit of razor burn about 12 hours later, they gave me a much closer shave than the 7 a.m. blades. In fact this is probably the closest shave I have ever gotten. I think they are a quality blade, but I will have to practice shaving with them to reduce razor burn.
