This locking bike box is a game changer!!! I actually received the first one and unfortunately it was locked and NO way to get it open!!! I spoke with customer service and they said no problem, dispose of it and I received the replacement the very next day as promised. My initial concern with this box was that in some reviews it was mentioned that it was easily opened when it was locked. The fact that the first one was shipped to me locked gave me the opportunity to 'find out for myself.' It was no easy task getting into the locked unit so I assume that the manufacturer has upgraded the box now. So... the build quality and functionality are perfection. The mounting system and fit on the eBike are perfect and secure. There are no straps used in the mounting but rather a steel u-bolt which makes it very sturdy!!!

I could 1000% break this open if I really wanted, but it is enough of a deterrent it keeps honest people honest. I store a charger and a tool kit for my scooter in it and it’s nice. I wouldn’t store anything more valuable, not your keys in it. It is a pain to get on and off so ensure placement the first time. It’s also a bit weird to open and close but for the price it’s wonderful and I feel better than just having stuff in a bag anyone could go in or take.

Like others said, it doesn't really lock. When it's "locked" the mechanism you twist to unlock has enough play that you can still turn it just enough to undo the latch and open the box. No way to tighten it either, I tried. It's a shame because everything else about the product looks and feels like quality, yet an obvious and easily-fixed design flaw makes it worthless. Someone wasn't thinking. Someone never HAD to think because a certain massive online retailer will let any old garbage in their inventory. And that is why I will stick to real bike shops for my bike accessories from now on.

The intention of the product is great but it doesn’t actually fit any of my bikes so it’s going to waste

The hinge to open the box is plastic and easily bendable, making the box somewhat difficult to open. Also, the box is supposed to slide shut, but because it is made of plastic and bendable, it slides with difficulty and is hard to lock. Once locked, it does appear to be safe but with a little forced strength, the box can be opened even when locked.

This thing isn't too big - it's the size of a medium-largeish water bottle. It'll fit keys, a compact manual tire pump, maybe a travel hand sanitizer, and a compact bike multitool. I was so tired of carrying around our bike tools when we locked our bikes up and walked around - this is great because it's harder to steal its contents than a detachable or non-locking/fabric model. I did have to mount it vertically on my partner's cruiser, so getting things in and out is a little annoying because, the way it opens, things just fall out of the front if you don't take great care when opening the front panel, but it's still better than carrying around a large water-bottle's amount of stuff!!! I didn't find setting the lock combination to be difficult at all, nor was installing it very hard. It's like installing a water bottle cage.

There were no instruction included with the item so I had to do a little figuring out. It also took some doing to find a place to mount it. I was lucky that it just fit on one of the bottle mounts in the frame. When mounting I had to use a socket to tighten the included nuts and it was a very tight fit with regard to the outer diameter of the socket itself. To change the combination there is a little metal lever that you push down, set the desired combination, and then flip back up. After I got it mounted and set I am pleased with it as a lockable compartment that I can store tools and repair items.
