Lovely little bird table, Easy to build & will brighten up almost any garden
As summer is rapidly approaching and I've finally managed to fight back the garden of overgrowth from last year, I decided that Mr Robin and his friends could do with an easier time when it comes to finding food and water within the relative safety of the garden. So I bought this fine Kingfisher bird table as a bit of a DIY project, and so far it hasn't disappointed. When the box arrived, all of the pieces were cut and finished very well and the instructions were clear to understand. However, the screws and fixings were all missing for some reason. After contacting the seller about it, within hours they had shipped a replacement set of metal hardware which arrived a couple of days later with Royal Mail. After 30-40 minutes, a brew and self-gloating, I now have a very handsome bird table that my feathered admirers are going to absolutely love! Good Points - Easy to put together (you'll need a philips screwdriver) - Clear instructions - Decent finish (edges sanded, rounded and generally safe) - High quality construction, considering it's been manufactured for domestic self-assembly - Excellent customer service Not-so-good Points - Screws were missing, but to be fair the seller rectified the problem at their own expense, so brownie points for excellent customer service. - The finish on the feed holder isn't so good. It's been cut in a way that leaves the wire mesh exposed at one end which is exceptionally sharp. I've had to bed them back to prevent animals (and people) from catching themselves horrifically on it. - Most fiddly part is the legs. Though I managed just fine by myself, two people (one to hold, one to screw) would have been easier. - If you get the legs out of balance (oops) the table will be wonky (obviously). But one way around it is to bury part of the legs into the soil, like muggins here... Overall It's a lovely little bird table that is relatively easy to build in no time. Your feathered friends will love it!

Disappointing
Shoddy design some holes missing, some not drilled properly, some of the wood has splits in it, it was clearly built to a budget and this budget was tiny as is evidenced by the Shoddy workmanship

Awful
I can honestly and accurately say this is the worst quality, flimsy, useless design I could ever have imagined. Please save your money and buy something of better quality. The main stem of the design has an unsupported join in the middle. It's so lightweight it's like balsa wood. There were knots that were so rotted in places that screws were supposed to go. We reinforced it with other pieces of wood and it's still flimsy. Even the birds choose not to use it. The wood is almost yellow in colour so it stands out like a sore thumb in the garden setting. Worst waste of money ever. I've had to give this a star in all catagories because it's impossible to leave feedback on less than one star, but in reality it's no more than firewood.

You Get What You Pay For
As the title says, you really do get what you pay for - so don’t buy this if you’re expecting a top of the rage, sturdy, bomb-proof bird feeder. However… With that said, if you’re prepared with very basic tools and a minor bit of woodworking knowledge you can make this product the majority of the above qualities, which will not only give you a nice little project to do, but will save you a lot of money compared with buying a brand new top of the range one. I bought this initially as a bit of a challenge, as I’d seen so many negative reviews with people complaining about the build quality and the durability of the assembled feeder. And yes, as much as I’m not going to sit here and defend the splintering wood and slightly mis-matched parts, I really don’t think that these things are the end of the world. As I said previously, with a bit of wood glue and some basic tools you can quite easily re-enforce the joints, sand the splinters and weather-proof it which will give you a very nicely finished result. My feeder has been standing strong for several months now (even surviving the 75mph winds of storm Arwen!) and all I had to do was wood glue some of the major joining parts and attach bit of spare roofing felt to the roof of it. I also painted it in some decking paint to make it look nicer, but from a durability standpoint, I don’t think this was necessary. As previously stated - don’t buy this if you want a strong, durable and stylish product off the shelf (once it’s been assembled), but if you want a bird feeder kit that you can improve upon, it’s a great little project and will return whatever you put into it. The birds like it too!

Should last a few years.
This is not a heirloom item: It's not the most solid construction or the highest-quality materials. It's cheap, and it'll last you a few years. If that's all you need, that's fine. Got a nice pellet-holder built in, too. That's pellets, not seed. It'll take fat balls if you cut them in half first. I was able to violate the assembly instructions on mine to modify it for mounting on top of a fence rather than freestanding.

This was a load of rubbish
This bird table was very flimsy the wood was very soft and the screws too short if you put longer screws in to fix the legs the wood just split in to . The main piece that holds the table was held with one small bolt onto a very unsteady centre pole. Even when we tried various DIY skills we still couldn't get it stable and first time a bird landed on it it fell to bits Not impressed not good value for money

Certainly not premium but OK for the cost.
Attractive natural soft wood with a yellowish stain. Lots of bits to screw together. Instructions were OK but screw sizes described were not provided. One hole not properly predrilled so wood split when screw inserted. Not good quality, flimsy but looks Ok. Don’t think it will last long but I have treated the wood with preserver in the hope of getting 2 or 3 years life out of it.

Flimsy. Hope the squirrels don't break it before I can add some braces to it.
