It works.
Washed the soap powder drawer first before use, advised on bottle to remove any surplus washing powder/detergent from washing machine. So easy to use, didn't even have to let jackets dry between processes. I treated 2 jackets, one about 4 years old, the other about 6 years old, plenty of product left to do at least another 4 jackets. They have turned out brilliant, water beads off as it should. I did not put the jackets in the tumble dryer either, some products you need to do this to activate repellent, but not with nikwax, the jackets have dried naturally and are water resistant, just as I wanted and as advertised. Would definitely advise to try it.

It worked on one jacket, but not on Gore Tex one.
I had 2 jackets to wash, both with membrane. One Millet with their own membrane and one Marker with Gore Tex. First I put the water to the bathtube and I added one cap of washing liquid to it. I soaked both jackets for one hour and then took soft sponge, soaked them with undilluted washing liquid and rubbed some more dirty areas like ends of sleeves to get rid of dirt more efficiently. Then I put jackets to washing mashine and applied washing liquid as advised on the box. I set up washing machine to not spin, but to rinse 3 times. Then I set up 2 additional rinses separately and added membrane activation liquid to both rinses separately. I have possibility to take wet jackets outside and I did not want to destroy membrane with spinning so I took them out without spinning, just soak in the water. The one from Millet seems to keep waterproofness, but the one with Gore Tex unfortunately not. It might be that it is quite old as I have had it for 10 years, but it was washed probably just 4th time. I used it mostly for skiing only. I think it is time to say goodbye or just use it when it is not raining. I don't know of that is the matter of the liquid or basically the membrane got old and I am not able to save it. Therefore I am taking one star off. Millet was a new jacket with first time washing.

Can't believe how easy it is to restore 2 much loved ski jackets to water-proof-ness!
It truly does exactly as they say! No effort: I popped 2 ski jackets on a 30 degree wash with the Tech Wash first (having scrubbed the detergent drawer per the instructions), then put the washing machine on again immediately, with the TX Direct waterproofer in the detergent drawer this time. Hung them overnight to dry: hey presto... 2 waterproofed jackets. The water beaded off perfectly. I'm amazed. Even sceptical DH is impressed. We will be nice and dry on the slopes without having to buy another new jacket. So impressed that I have just ordered more for our soggy walking jackets, and the Down pack for my son's down jackets & the glove version too!And I did a normal wash straight afterwards: no residue, so that's also all true. I'm a convert to NIkwax!

Works Perfectly
I’ve been using these (I think the formula has changed over the years) products for the past 18 years without issue. It’s important that you follow the instructions to the letter, particularly as regards not washing if the seam-tape on your waterproof jackets is starting to come away. If you put a jacket in this condition through a wash cycle there is a good chance that the tape will be further damaged simply because of the motion of the process, regardless of whether there is any kind of soap or detergent involved. The reviewer who says his Aigle and Helly Hansen jackets were ‘ruined’ by the Nikwax products is wrong. There is no way that the damage he describes would happen as a result simply of using the liquid soap. The jackets were most likely fairly heavily worn already and/or they were washed using the wrong settings. Reviews like his are very misleading and before anyone wonders, no I do not work for Grangers! I just find it very unfair when people blame the product when there is a clear case of user error.I have added photos to show the before/after treatment on a two year old, three-ply GoreTex jacket. You will see that the outer fabric has absorbed a fair bit of moisture prior to treatment and then, post treatment, the water on the outer is beading as if the jacket was brand new. Please also note that there is absolutely no damage to the seam tape.

Fab product works well
Brilliant product, used on my old walking trousers and gave them a new life! Worn out in rain, and noticed the water sat in the fabric, then ran off as I walked. Leaving me nice and dry!!
