It was a piece of junk
It was impossible to load staples into the stapler. The staple strip had to be inserted down and back into the stapler and broke up into small sections.

Beware of Shortcomings
Overall, this is a great stapler for office use. It is easy to load and stapling action is smooth and accomplished easily without much effort. The staples included are the Powercrown staples with 0.250" leg height and 0.450" crown width dimension.Given the staples are smaller in crown width, the stapling clamping area is spread across a slightly smaller surface area compared with other staplers I have which uses the standard 0.500" width staples.A couple of drawbacks with this particular stapler:* This stapler uses Bostitch B8 staples which are not the standard 0.500" crown width - standard staples will not work in this stapler!* This stapler has an opening on the top handle for inserting the staples into the magazine once the plastic magazine tray cover is pulled all the way back. This design makes changing staples of different leg heights very difficult compared to plier staplers made by other manufacturers that have a rear loading port.* Removing the staples held inside the magazine to change to another B8 Bostich B8 Powercrown staple size is not easily done. The magazine cover must be moved to the rear most position. The staples within the magazine can be dislodged by turning the stapler upside down and tapping the stapler to have the staple stack fall out. If you want to load the magazine with a shorter stack of staples of a different leg height, it will be very difficult as the opening on the top handle of the stapler is very limited in size - there is no room for your fingers to guide the staples into the magazine so it is properly seated. Unless you use a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliers to insert a short stack of staples, it will not be easy to load this stapler. A full stack of staples is easy to load but a short stack of 30% or less will be very difficult to do by hand without tools. If I had to buy just one plier stapler, I'd look at the Rapesco plier stapler which does not have the issues with this Bostich B8 stapler. The Rapesco plier stapler has a rear loading mechanism which makes loading the stapler magazine very easy if you need to change the size of the staples for different uses.As long as you are aware of the above issues, this is still a good stapler.
