This little baby does everything the ad said she'd do...
I liked the speed at which it was delivered to us (we have a project we have to get into the mail yesterday!) It only took 2 days. I liked that it was easy to figure out - AND THE VIDEO THAT WAS IN THE AMAZON ADVERTISEMENT (LAST PICTURE TO THE LEFT OF ITEM DESCRIPTION) WAS EVERYTHING TO ME as I wanted to transfer files from a cassette tape to a USB drive. Even so, I had to study that tape again after I tried to make my first transfer. So here's what I noticed that other customers commented to: A. I accidentally put the a/c cord into the headphone jack. ..which made it seem like the cord didn't work. So I shifted the cord to the hole below and that was the right one. It didn't fit tightly, though. B. To record from the cassette tape to a USB (it shows almost all of the following on their video): 1. First, place your USB stick into the machine on the right side. Slide the right toggle switch, second to the end, to where it says "tape/off". I tried to tape with the switch on "USB/SD" but I got nada. (i found out that button is for you to listen to what's on your USB stick.) 2. Next, push the play button on top, where you want to begin, then 3. Push the button on the left side of the front of the machine that says "REC" and hold it until the red light comes on, not green. You should then be able to hear the tape as it's recording. 4. If you want to make an announcement midway, push the pause/play button on the left front and stop the tape with the stop button on top. Then, push REC on the front left and say what you want to say into the mic. When you're finished, push pause/play on the front left again and "play" on the top to continue your conversion. I'm sure they put all of this in the instructions, but I like to just get started. I hope that helps clarify some points. I think it plays as well as any cassette I ever had. Oh, and when you shut it to begin taping, make sure you press on the top left corner where the sticker says "close here" Otherwise you're going to have problems with the "eject" button keeping the machine open. The "next" button is for toggling between entries. Happy reminiscing!

Awesome Throwback Device!
I love this little thing! I use it like an old-school portable radio; I have all my favorite songs loaded onto a micro SD card and all it takes to play them is the flick of a switch. This is exactly what I had been searching for: an MP3 player that wasn't tiny, that had its own speaker, and that uses AA batteries (a huge plus for me after an extremely bad experience with a lithium battery). It's simple, cute, and takes me back to a simpler time. I can't speak to the cassette feature because I haven't used it, but the MP3 player function is fantastic. This little guy will be going to the beach and everywhere else with me from now on!

Nice but……….
Nice all in one unit with radio, cassette recorder, and card reader. My only complaint is that it sound very tinny and irritating. Also, it’s glitchy and sometimes won’t read or record card. Don’t buy it.

THIS is a smart Jazzy Item
ITS GOT GREAT FEATURES with little instruction. I also don't like pushing 2 buttons at the same time to make something work....and the words...press hard the first couple of times....they could have made this simple to use....but bare bones instructions on a road map micro flyer aren't much help....how do I say this...common sense design would have been much better than push play and something else to get it to go.....It sounds real nice...batteries load well....just the right size...but if you have to carry the little instruction flyer with you because how to use the functions are in Morse code....then I don't know.... I'm old school if you want to record...you press record....if you want to play then press play....no have to press both play and record. NOW I HAD A QUESTION ....CAN YOU RECORD DIRECTLY TO USB ... no where in the book is this addressed....why would you have to record onto cassette and then convert it to mp3....thats a waste... I just think the instructions would have addressed...these other ways to record... if you could or couldnt...BUT ALL IN ALL it's a great product even if you have to record on cassette first then convert..... has a friendly price mark....radio is great....can't go wrong

Love it!
Works great! Perfect to listen to cassette tapes and easy to transfer audio from cassette to MP3. I’m recovering some spoken-word oral history recordings. The sound quality is good. Looks cute, compact size, and works well.

Sometimes works fine
I bought this tape player to transfer my cassette tapes to MP3 files. This player does save cassettes to USB MP3 files, but I was not completely happy with the recordings. There are two problems. One problem is that there is a little buzz. I only notice the buzz when the tape goes silent. The background buzz is NOT there when recording using the built in microphone. Second, even though the MP3 files play back, some of the MP3 files CANNOT be edited with my audio editor. All I want to do it trim off the beginning and end of the recordings, but I cannot even do that. There is also a limitation of the hardware: there is no way to record from the radio to the USB. The only way to record from the radio is to a cassette, it cannot record direct to a USB. One more shortcoming: The USB drive cannot be larger than 32 GB. Many USB drives today are much larger than this. Larger USB drives do not work to record MP3 files. The written instructions were easy to follow. I will keep the tape player and just record the audio with my phone when I play the tapes, bypassing the MP3 option that does not work all that well. Perhaps the radio will come in handy someday.

It worked fine right avay. No problems.
It is a nice little player. It did everything it was supposed to do. The sound is good for a small speaker system like this one. The Radio and player work fine. Copying from a Tape to a USB (MP3) memory stick works fine.

Cassette to MP3 great
Got this to convert 40 year old cassettes to MP3. Works excellent. The quality of the output was in relation to the condition of the tapes. A couple of tapes played poorly, but tapes of the same year played great. Take that into consideration that you get out what you put in. The tapes that played well sounds like yesterday. I also use it to play radio while working on stuff. Great little unit for the price.

Great little radio but AC adapter failed almost immediately
I love the shape of this little radio and it works well with four AA batteries. Sadly, the quality is dubious. The AC adapter stopped working after about thirty seconds, but since I predominantly wanted the radio for portable use, I decided not to return it. I am disappointed with this considering the cost. Other than that it sounds great, is lightweight and easy to use.
