I was building a deck and ramp for an elderly couple I used nine of these post mounts because we could not Mount stuff to the concrete which was existing it is a rental area here in Arizona 55 and older so I used the posts with 4x4s to be the supports the only thing I found with the ground here in Arizona is that it's really hard and really Rocky going about 3/4 ways at work but once it got down to the part was hard the bottom of the holder that would hold a 4x4 started to bend I just think they need to be a little beefier but if you have softer ground I do not see a problem with using these., should work just fine

This post anchor extends about 18” into the ground and 6” above ground. The top part accommodates nominal 4 x 4” lumber. I cut a couple of 8” lengths of 2 x 4 to fill the top box of the post anchor and provide a surface for my sledgehammer to hit without directly contacting the post anchor. The bottom tip of the anchor is rounded to penetrate the ground and push small stones out of the way. The anchor comes with beefy hex-head 1-3/4” screws to secure your post to the anchor. The anchor has pre-drilled holes for the screws, offset so the screws won’t split the post. Installation took less than half an hour altogether for a mailbox post, which it holds without wobbling. The powder coat paint job looks like it will last a long time. There is plenty of drainage from the box that holds the post so water won’t collect and rot the post or rust the anchor. Well done.

Works. Holes for bolts don’t line up well. Missing some bolts and nuts.

I was able to use this to quickly replace a post in my fence that had rotted out without having to do any digging or dealing with concrete. I used a cutoff piece of the 4x4 to pound it into the ground and then attached the full post. It only took a few minutes.

Installed on a Monday. Broke on that Friday. Winds steady at 15-20mph with gusts reaching 30-35
