plain rice cake, cooks up perfect chewy texture that is expected from tteokbokki
Just rice cake. 3 bags in one larger bag. Instructions on the larger bag. Easy prep, just boil until desired doneness. Rock hard to start then turns into that lovely chewy texture that I crave. Add your own sauce and toppings.Very good, taste and texture is as expected. When it comes to the dish generally referred to as "Tteokbokki" (simmered rice cake), it is all about the sweet and spicy sauce, and the main base of rice cake. Add-ons such as boiled eggs, scallions, and/ or fishcake is typical but optional. I often just make up a quick bowl of simmered rice cake and sauce for a mini meal. There is something about it that really hits the spot. With this being JUST rice cake, I can use it in any fashion I want. One of their pictures shows the pieces lightly grilled with a side of dipping sauce. I never thought to do that, now I will have to give it a try. I LOVE rice cake!I love the chewy texture, and the combo of sweet and spicy for most of the sauces I use. Since I usually make up a bowl as a quick meal, my go to sauce is Foodrella Tteokbokki Rice Cake Sauce Mix, Multipurpose Sweet & Spicy Seasoning Mix for Korean Spicy Food which is super easy to prepare.I boil the rice cake noodles, then drain reserving just a little water for use with the sauce mix. I stir everything together and put heat on low so the sauce thickens. Since Tteokbokki leans hot and spicy, I play around with ways to take it down a notch. Sometimes I add a little butter, a little yogurt, or a neutral complimentary sauce.Basic ingredients: Rice, Refined Salt, Citric Acid, and Grain Alcohol-- which totally cooks off and has no taste or aroma.

Tasty, easy to prepare
These are my first experience with dried rice cakes, I’ve only had frozen before. They cooked up quickly and were very good. I admit to being skeptical but they were a pleasant surprise and I’ll absolutely purchase again.

Delicious and Versatile Rice Cakes for a Tantalizing Culinary Adventure!
The simplicity of these rice cakes is what makes them truly remarkable. Each package contains three individual bags, ensuring freshness and convenience. Following the easy-to-understand instructions on the larger bag, I quickly prepared the rice cakes by boiling them to perfection. At first, they were firm like rock, but as they cooked, they transformed into the delightful chewiness I had been yearning for. What I love most about these rice cakes is their versatility. While they are commonly used as the base for the famous "Tteokbokki" dish, I found myself experimenting with various culinary creations. Whether lightly grilled with a side of dipping sauce or used in stir-fried rice cakes, their plain yet satisfying taste allowed me to unleash my creativity in the kitchen.

Best rice cake from Amazon!
I've bought rice cakes from a Korean grocery store as well as a few from Amazon. I decided to "splurge" on these and I was NOT disappointed! When cooked properly, these are the closest to fresh rice cake texture I've tasted. Buy them, make a yummy sauce, and enjoy - you won't be disappointed!
