Hengstenberg Sauerkraut 680 g (Pack of 6)

Brilliant value for money and great tasting. However, the lids on these jars are so tight - never seen as hard to open lids in my life. Had to heat the lid under boiling water and even then it took all my strength to open it and I consider myself fairly strong.

Very good product :) I grew up in Germany, this tastes like the Sauerkraut I used to eat :) Can only recommend :) Will order again :) p.s. the smell of Sauerkraut does take over your cupboard/drawers when you store the jars!

This is my favourite sauerkraut. The wine is what makes it so tasty. Arrived well packed. Wasn't sure about ordering 6 jars but with a use by date of December 2020, I think it's fair to say I will use all 6 jars before then. I love this with hotdogs and sausages. It's also excellent warm with veal (German/Austrian schnitzle). Very difficult to find in shops and at such a favourable price. Would like German mustard as well but too pricey as it comes direct from Germany. I can well recommend this sauerkraut. Very very tasty and goes with pretty much every meat. Try it with pastrami - yummy. But my favourite has to be hotdogs - it's an American thing...🤣 And yes I'm American 😊

I buy these regularly and they are good for you and tasty, usually excellent quality. However one of the jars was not vaccuum sealed and when I opened it today it was a funny colour and tasted off (not rotten or anything but I don't fancy it). In case the manufacturer reads this the number on the label is 008100151611

Nice product but one of the jars arrived broken and therefore unusable . Actual product value for money if I had received all six!

I have found this is more helpful with digestion problems like waking next morning and feeling like you have just eaten, a lot more effective than probiotic drinks. quite tasty as well i add it to most meals and sandwiches now, full of all the right vitamins at a reasonable price.

The bottles were bubble wrapped in a box...inside another box lined with bubble wrap! They turned up within two days. Six large jars for £9!....come-on that is amazing value for money. My Mum and Dad have never tried Sauerkraut.....we only really have pickled cabbage in the UK....but this stuff is different...it's mild, sweet and deceptively moreish. I immediately opened a jar upon arrival and dug a fork in......yum, flipping yum....my Dad tentativly ate a little bit, "Maybe I'll have some with my dinner....." he said.........another convert in the making! x
