Leagues better than any chef knife in it's price range
I waited literal years for this cleaver to be available and it was worth every second. It's well balanced, perfectly sharpened and can be used for anything a western chef knife is supposed to do and better.

Very nice cleaver and beautiful!
I love this knife! Great for meat and veggies. I would not use this to chop through bones there are bone cleavers for that. It came sharp and ready to use.

Great cleaver for the price.
Packaged wonderfuly to protect it in shiping. Build quality seems very good. I haven't used it a lot as I just recieved it, but it is super sharp right out of the box. I did use it to help spit a turkey, and the edge got a couple of tiny nicks while knocking on a bone, but those will buff out with a sharpening steel. Great idea for a gift. I am.looking forward to using it some more.

50Cr15MoV safer to use than most chefs knives once you get used to using it! Great Value!
I've always been curions about cai dao knives. (chinese chefs knives) but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg and you shouldn't have to these days. I got the 8" version 50Cr15MoV and when I opened the box and felt it in my hand the first time, I was a bit intimidated. I put it back in the box immediately because I was scared of it! I had to widen my top slot on my butcher block to accomodate it's width but it fits in there perfectly! I watched some videos on youtube on how to hold them and use them and it actually feels like it's safer to use because of the height and you are using the gravity of the knife to cut. Do not chop bones or anything hard with this knife and make sure the knife edge lands horizontally or you will screw it up. This is not a cleaver! Cleavers are about 3x and heavy and 3x as dull! safer to use than most chefs knives once you get used to using it!

Functional cleaver, but made with cheap steel
Admittedly its my first time using a cleaver of this size, but on my very first chop i managed to dent the blade edge (cutting an orange on a soft wood cutting board) The blade is very sharp, but the steel used is evidently flimsy. I was able to buff out most of the dent with a 400/1000 grit sanding stone without much force, so definitely be gentle with the blade otherwise it will chip or roll.

Cuts nicely
Great knife!! Cuts everything very easily. Even things I normally struggle with, like raw sweet potatoes, were no problem with this knife. It’s a little large and feels awkward to use with smaller things like garlic but it still works well. My boyfriend is obsessed with it

Chef's knife, not a bone chopper.
I like this knife for every day use in the kitchen. As I get older and more experienced, I am drifting toward using smaller and lighter knives. This one is for slicing onions, squash, mushrooms, grilled chicken breasts, etc. It is a little small and light for the big bbq. It does not come with a sheath. I wrap it in a small towel before putting it away. It does its intended job well. No complaints.

Ich bin begeistert. Ich koche schon immer gerne mit großen Messern und dieses ist das beste, dass ich je hatte. Super scharf! Es ist allerdings auch mein erstes chinesisches Kochmesser, vielleicht gibt es viele deutliche Bessere. Aber das ist besser als jedes Messer, dass ich je hatte. Und ich hatte schon viele, von no name 5€ bis WMF 200€.
