I have both the 57040 (bigger orange) and 57074 (smaller black) models and have used both extensively. Here is what I think: The 57040 is a good, sturdy flashlight that will surprise you with how bright it is. It has two brightness settings, but I usually just use the brighter setting. You can also concentrate the beam which I've found useful in a few situations as it makes it appear just a hair brighter right where you need it. The magnet is cool but I usually take it off. I also removed the clip entirely. Red laser poiner is a red laser pointer. Even though the flashlight is impressively bright for how small it is: it's still just too big to realistically carry around with you every day. The 57074 however is an upgrade in the size department. It is much smaller, about the size of a pack of Double Bubble I've had vapes that were bigger. Very pocketable. It also has this awesome 2 way clip you can attach to the bill of a hat and use it as a makeshift headlamp. You can not concentrate the beam on this model which I initially found disappointing, it makes up for this however with a super-ultra-mega bright setting that can be used in 60 second bursts by holding the flashlight button. This kind of achieves a similar thing with less work. The magnet also isn't removable as far as I can tell on this model. It gets hot if you use the main lights on it for too long. It has a little floodlight that doesn't get as hot though. I also noticed that the green laser pointer on this model has a hands-free mode not mentioned in the manual that is activated by double clicking the laser button. Both flashlights have their strengths and weaknesses. I've owned my 56040 a lot longer and just got the 56074 recently. Both products are an easy 5 stars. I just noticed all these reviews are for the bigger orange flashlight and figured some might appreciate a review for the smaller black flashlight

Great value. The rechargeabliliy could only be improved by having a USB-C port instead of a Micro USB. Or at least making it disassemblable.

What a great flashlight and laser pointer. I use it regularly at work in training. Thank you for the great value.

It's an alright little flashlight. I like the laser pointer but one downside is that if it gets too hot it just shuts off completely. Which in theory makes sense but sometimes I need a light to rely on. I dropped it in oil and it still works, the laser pointer not so much. The magnet isn't that strong and the charger cover is a little unreliable but overall for the price and what I've put it through it's not too bad. Feels nice in your pocket too.

I use this at work. I’m in the trades. The laser works pretty well, especially in dark areas but more super bright areas not as well but still doable. I love that it has a good strong magnet. I work with a lot of metal framing so when I’m doing my plumbing fixtures or installing pipe, I can slap it against one of the metal studs and it holds up pretty well. It gets me through the day using it quite frequently and also it’s rechargeable. That’s a huge bonus. Also, it does have a little light indicator when you plug it in if it’s red that means it’s charging and it’ll tell you when it’s fully charged it turns green the side clip for the most part is pretty durable. 30+ dollars is worth every penny fits well in my hands. I’ve dropped this 20 feet up in the air and it holds up pretty well. Nothing has broken off of it. Also, the tip of the light you can widen the brightness or zoom in on it. The brightness of the light can light up a huge area no problem. I use it while going camping walking on trails if it gets dark. Overall, I’m 100% satisfied with this product.
