🔗 The chain comes as a 2.5 metre length of zinc-plated mild steel with welded short links, wound neatly onto a reel. It’s described as 6mm, though my measurements showed around 5.76mm on the bare steel, with the welds adding close to a millimetre at points. Each link is just under 45mm long and about 25mm wide. The zinc plating gives it a bright, even finish, and I couldn’t find any sharp edges or loose metal. The overall appearance is tidy and consistent, and it feels solid in the hand.🔗 The welding provides strength but also makes the chain slightly more rigid than others I’ve used. It doesn’t flow as freely, which might matter if you need the chain to pass smoothly into a hopper or guide. I’ve been cutting the chain into smaller sections, and it strikes a good balance—strong enough to hold weight, yet still easy to cut with suitable tools. The links connect easily to standard carabiners, so it’s been straightforward to incorporate into my use case. For the price, I think it’s decent value. The finish should hold up well indoors or under cover, though like most mild steel, I wouldn’t expect it to resist rust indefinitely if left out in the weather. ✔️

Chain and padlock purchased cause my bench kept getting moved in our communal garden. Chained to drainpipe now so very secure. Chain is slightly longer than I needed but that’s not a problem
