I bought six different ones, and this one was among the top 2. It works well and is pleasant to look at.

Although I knew it would take several hours for the lamp to heat up to the lava-like movement, I kept glancing at its light with imagined expectations. To my surprise, the lamp turned off after 20 MINUTES. Engaging the on-off switch did not help. Other devices using the same connection continued functioning. I appreciated the 5 ft cord. I was willing to take the extra precautions due to the long term high surface temperature of the lamp. However, I definitely do NOT RECOMMEND this lava lamp.. I am not going to bother packaging and transporting it for a refund.

I haven't had a lava lamp in so long but decided to get one to put in my son's room, it brought back great memories! The lava lamp looks just as I remember they did when I was young. There are heat warnings on the packaging as it does get warm (it took just a little bit to get it heated enough for the fun bubbles to move around). The color is classic and my son loves it!

After a few months the water in this lamp starts to get pretty cloudy, I don’t know what causes this, or if it’s an isolated event that is just occurring in my unit.The other thing that it does that’s a bit concerning, when it gets to a higher temperature it makes a loud pop to the point where the first couple times I would check to see if the glass had broken from the heat, after a while I came to expect it so I stopped checking.

The first one I ordered arrived, but had a small leak in the cap and the bulb did not work. I really feel this was a shipping cause and not manufacturing. I put in for a request to send it back and the company answered like in less than an hour and offered a full replacement. I got the replacement and it is working perfectly. I love to watch it. Time to full motion is about 45 minutes, but you can see it warming up by a little movement forms and then a big stalagmite forms from the bottom and then the bubbles crank up. I am mesmerized watching it. The glass portion is a little uneasy in the light housing, but as long as it sits in a spot where it won't get bumped or banged then you too will enjoy watching this little popular invention of the 70's. The price for it is not a bad price for the treasured staring you will get from it. It actually helps me calm my nerves after a stressful day at work. Get it and try it for yourself to see and experience what I'm talking about. I think you won't be able to resist spending too much time watching the bubbles go up, run into each other, sometimes molding into each other thinking of those days you sit around in your friends basement watching one.

Within 30min of turning on, the lava starts gracefully floating in the bottle.Overall, this Lava Lamp is an absolute gem for college students, work from home workers, or anyone seeking a moment of respite and calmness during their busy days.

We bought this lava lamp for our son as he was excited to experience this. Unfortunately our experience has been anything but:1) requires some installation but once assembled it is fairly shaky and we worried that it would topple over in middle of the night (and it runs really hot - cause a fire??)2) When it worked the globs didn't separate that well (not like in the pictures, videos).3) After a few weeks it stopped working all together!4) I reached out to Seller directly (via AMZN) but no response after several weeks.Summary - poor product, potential fore hazard, poor customer service, waste of money

Very easy to assemble. Once I put it together I put clear tape along where the grey base meets the glass so that if it ever falls it wouldnt slide out. I was worried that it wasnt moving but after an hour of having it plugged in , it begin to break apart and do what it suppose to do and has been doing it every sense. So dont worry if it does not start moving for the first hour, just give it time. Its a beautiful glow to the lounge eating area.
