The handle was flimsy from the start, that was surprising, but I guess Samsonite is not what it used to be. Just another cheap crap brand. The handle broke after 1.5 years of use. Just fell apart. The "Lifetime warranty" means nothing for me since there is no repair centers here (one of the biggest metro areas in the US). Shipping to one is not free and you don't know if they will accept it as a manufacturer defect. So it's just not worth it to try to repair.

I've been using my back-pack for the last 2 weeks and everything is well so far. It survived my 2 weeks at law school, carrying my MacBook Air, the chargers, A large water bottle, an umbrella, 3 books, 2 folders, and my lunch. After all that there's still space, but I don't want to over use it. As you can see even the bottom of it it's in good condition. I take good care as well and carry it while going up the stairs, because even though it's a good backpack, as everything it requires good care for long-lasting use. I live in Seattle, where rains a lot (maybe not a hard rain, but a constant one) and it stands the rain pretty well. My things are always fine and dry. Not sure what would happen if it rains heavily, but a light rain doesn't get into. I also take the bus so I use it on the streets and sidewalks as well. I do not walk long distances, but I do walk a couple of blocks.
