Super light weight, sharp
This is a thin blade santoku style knife that works well for camping and seems to hold an edge pretty well. The blade is very thin, so a little care is required, but it worked great.

Great lightweight knife for camping
This knife is very lightweight, which makes it good for camping. I wish it was a little longer and the sheath it comes with seems a little flimsy. It's very sharp though and much easier to carry than a traditional chef's knife.

and I am very pleased with it from initial inspection
We got this as a gift for my father in law, and I am very pleased with it from initial inspection. It is light, sharp, and very solid, perfect for camping or backpacking. Actually, my favorite part is the simple plastic sheath, which is extremely secure and protects the blade (and your bag).

Rusty after 2 days
I'm the idiot for leaving it with a bit of moisture, but after two days, I wouldnt expect rust to form. It was very sharp, I loved using it, but then it rusted.

Cut my dang finger!
I bought this to use on a recent 4-day camping trip. This rascal is sharp! I have the cut finger to prove it!! The look and feel is a bit flimsy but it did well cutting meat, vegetables and fish. I don't think I'd use this as my only fillet knife but I imagine you could if you're that good. It comes with a non-sharpening sheath to protect the blade. Good for your basic camping box.

Sharp!
Very satisfying to see how sharp this was out of the box. The sheath is a little thin, but it is weight savings. Great knife, robust, comfortable handle, and seems it will last a while if I keep it sharp.Chopped onions with ease, and sliced tomatoes that were kind mushy effortlessly. Used their folding cutting board, which is also very nice from MSR. The pair are always a part of my camp ware.

Great product
Slim, sturdy knife that works great for camping food prep. Worked for chicken, fruits, and vegetables. Would recommend.

Returned product shipped as new
Rust spots and extremely dull. You can also see scratches running the lengthways from being cleaned by a scour pad. That being said I’m going to keep it and use it in my truck system. I was able to resharpen easily with my work sharp bench grinder and clean the rust (patina still visible). Cuts vegetables well being so thin. Very flexible probably 440a steel. In reality this is a $5 knife with a $15 logo. Msr isnt a knife company but still is a premium brand and this falls short.
