Best Coffee Maker
I bought the Zojirushi EC-EJC120 because I wanted a simple On/Off switch powered coffee maker to run via a smart plug. Most of the negative reviews center around the fact that the hot plate doesn't have an auto-off feature. Obviously, I don't mind that since I can set a timer, manually shut off, or schedule run times via the smart plug app. I enjoy the fact that it has a clean appearance with no push-buttons and no useless clock display. It does everything it's supposed to with no cheap plastic coffee maker taste. The water temperature is properly hot as advertised. The other negative reviews were written by people who probably shouldn't own household appliances. I don't mind the non-detachable water tank; I can manage pouring water without spilling. Apparently, you shouldn't slam the lid closed as you may damage the "shower dome". Another reviewer complained that they can't source a new carafe after they cracked the glass. Buyer beware LOL.

Buyer Beware! Only worked one month and resolving the issue with the company is a pain
We bought this coffee maker the beginning of March of this year. I did research and this checked many boxes for brewing quality coffee. It met the expectations when it was working. Here is the issue - we only had it one month before it just stopped working completely. One day, it worked perfectly and the next morning - the light for the 'switch' is lit but it did not brew nor did the hot plate get warm. The company is having me send the coffee maker to them to see if they will fix it. They will let me know. I would expect a company that stands behind their product to send me a new one and then I return this one in the box the new one came in. That is good customer service. I will now be avoiding this brand due to the way such issues. I would gladly pay $80 for this coffee maker for the quality it was doing but not for just one month.

Makes fabulous coffee
We love our morning coffee and are always searching for a great coffee maker without breaking the bank. The last few years we’ve been buying Cuisinart coffee makers as they make good coffee, are affordable, and look nice. But the carafes break constantly, so we’re done with that brand. We enjoy the quality of a French press brew, but kind of a hassle to make. So, after a lengthy search chose this new Zojirushi design, and it’s fantastic! Super simple without all the bells and whistles. The most important thing is that is makes amazing coffee - it brews at the right temperature! So many coffee makers do not get the water hot enough for the right brew. You can choose the strength of the brew by just toggling a lever, and it’s just a simple on/off switch to operate. The one thing we had to get used to, however, is that the hot plate function doesn’t turn off automatically, we have to remember to turn the maker off when we’re done. But that’s not a big deal. So happy with our new Zojirushi and the incredible coffee it makes!

Died after seven months
Gave this 2 stars because it makes a good brew. But, the heating element stopped working seven months after purchase. No heating plate-no brewing heater. This is too expensive to fail completely after 7 months.

The lid does not lift up
Update: broke after a few months, just stopped sucking up water to brew coffee. Overall I like this product. I've made coffee in the bold, medium in classic options and it definitely tasted different per setting. There are a few design flaws with the coffee pot itself. First the lid either fully detaches or fully attaches, you cannot lifted open with your thumb as you pour like you would with a normal coffee pot (see imagine). The coffee pot also has a very curved lip so you can never pour out all the coffee.

Simple and elegant coffee machine
We didn’t need another clock or a bunch of preset buttons. This coffee machine had good reviews for making hot coffee, so I decided to try it when our Braun finally died (23 years! But they didn’t have a new model I liked). Pros: As promised, operation is simple and the coffee’s properly hot. The flavor extracted is very good. I think the even distribution of water with the dome does work well. Reviews fussing about folding the edge of the cone filter are overblown - it’s practically no effort to do it. I like that it takes the same #4 that I’m used to. Cons: the dome does collect water and is a bit drippy when the lid is opened to remove the used filter. It needs to be wiped. A minor chore, but real. That’s why one star off. Also, the measurements suggested in the manual for the included scoop seem way off. By the way, the manual wasn’t included, we had to search and download as no instructions at all were in the box. Neutral: this model doesn’t have an automatic shut off for the warming plate. The digital model of the Dome does. We’re okay with turning it off manually, but if it had 1-hour auto shut off on this model it would be perfect. Overall, very happy with this coffee machine.

Classic model warmer plate is on or off
This is a really wonderful coffee maker so far. However, you should be aware that the Classic Coffee Maker EC-EJC120 that is not programmable and doesn't have a clock, does not automatically turn off after 2 hours. Since it does not have a clock and is not programmable, it is obvious that it cannot turn the warmer plate off after 2 hours. If you make ice coffee, you'll have to brew it then turn the warmer off because it is either on or off.

Great quality with bad design
We have been using this coffee maker for 2 years... And the quality is very good BUT...the design and practicality of the product are very flawed... To refill the water is tricky because there is no convenient way to pour the water in the tank and watch the level of the fill. Then the is an annoying little problem after pouring a cup the carafe always drops one drop of coffee by the spout... I may be picky but every time punctually I need to wipe my counter. These two problems of design do not deter from an excellent manufacture of a solid product. for many years I used low priced coffee makers where one needed to be cautious so as not to smash the product. Their design was usually adequate and the products were inexpensive. I thought I would treat our coffee routine. But the small annoyances I mentioned are very much like a small pebble in one's shoe...
