Unbeatable for the price
I'm a budding audiophile so please pardon me if I use some terminology incorrectly -- doing my best and learning a lot! Anyway, I'm a big fan of open back headphones and thought for a while that IEMs weren't for me. I cycled through Shure SE846s, Sennheiser IE600s and Linsoul 7hz AEs before landing on a pair of FiiO FH9s which I LOVE. Ended up returning or selling the rest. I also own a pair of Audeze iSine 20s but those are more headphones (earphones) than IEMs. I had a pair of HiFiMAN Anandas which I wasn't a huge fan of and was shocked as I know HiFiMAN is one of the main players in the audiophile space. No need to get into why I didn't like them, but the experience made me skeptical of trying other HiFiMAN products. As these RE800 Silvers were $600 originally (way overpriced), I figured spending $99 to try them out was well worth it, and it was! A lot of people complain about the bass, but I find these having nice extension and sub-bass, where maybe only the mid-bass is slightly lacking. That said, it's still very present and has a nice overall punch/rumble for how small the IEMs are, and they are tiny. I'd say these IEMs lean more on the "fun" side than the analytical side, with more of a V-shape, which is what I was looking for. That said, they're still nice and neutral sounding/balanced. The mids are still plenty smooth and present, and layers don't bleed into each other. The highs are nice and sparkly without sounding tinny like some people complain about, with minimal to no sibilance and distortion at higher volumes. Soundstage, imaging and layering are superb for the price, though soundstage is a little narrow/tall. The resolution is great as well. I find the overall sound to be warm, maybe slightly bright, and intimate which is impressive given the relatively small, single dynamic driver. The topology diaphragm also truly limits diaphragm distortion, as do the little ventilation holes on each IEM. The single, non-detachable cable with the 3.5mm jack is a bit disappointing and slightly cheap feeling, where a 4.4mm interchangeable connector at the very least would have been nice. Still, the cable feels pretty durable and isn't easily tangled. The R/L markings are very small and faint, and hard to see but no big deal. The IEMs are incredibly comfortable, especially when equipped with the SpinFit ear tips I put on, which came with my FH9s. Not a huge fan of the stock tips that the RE800s come with, as most people will agree. The IEMs are very light and hard to notice in your ear, with little to no fatigue even after hours of listening. Build quality of the IEMs themselves feels solid. Noise isolation isn't that great, but that's to be expected with small, non-ANC IEMs especially using silicone instead of foam tips. There's no mic which would have been nice, but few IEMs do. All in all, I'm hugely impressed with the RE800 Silvers and think HiFiMAN could get away with charging double what they are for them. If you're a budding audiophile like me, these are fantastic intro IEMs. If more experienced, or not an audiophile who still enjoys high-end sound, these are a great, affordable option. I will be using them for travel, the gym, and around the house listening and think you'd be able to use them for the same applications and more. I have yet to let them fully burn in and am already impressed. This is the bargain of the century, and my faith in HiFiMAN has been restored.

Love how small they are
Using these on a Fiio digital music player. They have really good detail. Some music is a little harsh I think because of the highs. Other songs are not too bright. Maybe I need to EQ to my liking. I got these at $99 when they were on sale. Other people complained about the cord. I think it's fine. But I wish the cord was detachable because I'm afraid sooner or later it will short out. But would I even be able to find a replacement cable years later? I don't know much about IEMS. My favorite part about these IEMs is how small they are. The build quality isn't bad but they are so small I feel like maybe they are delicate and I might break them. They come with a ton of ear tips but I found the stock ones a perfect fit. Very portable and low profile if you want to use them at school.

Great at Three Times The Price
I'm not an IEM guy; I like my headphones; BUT; I've tried the Moondrop Kato, Sennheiser IEM's, Focal IEM's, and they just didn't do it for me. I can't understand why these haven't gotten more love, but at $ 100 how can you go wrong? These originally were $ 600 from HiFiMan (that tells you they were overpriced to begin with). However, these really sound great with the right eartips installed (HiFiMan sends a bunch); the bass is OK (bassheads stay away from these). The mids are lush and enjoyable, but there is a little sibilance on some highs, not always. They are enjoyable, if not a little analytical, but I really like them for portable use with a good DAP. If I had paid $ 200 for these I'd be unhappy with the cheesy cabling (which is fixed) and pretty thin. Even my Kato's have great cable that was replaceable and of better quality. If I'd paid the original $ 600 for them, I'd be really upset and would have sent them back. I think the DAP has a little to do with these sounding pretty good; my iBasso DX160 and my Fiio M11 both make these sound pretty darn good.I will say that the sound stage on these is very, very good. It's almost 3 dimensional, and that really adds to the enjoyment of using them. I like the small size, they almost disappear when in the ear, yet have a big sound. But I'm sure that the wire will get pulled out of one or both of the modules, eventually.Overall, for $ 100 you can't go wrong. Even at $ 200 they are worth it, if your willing to put up with a cable you can't replace.

Crazy value
I am a mid/high-end headphone guy that has dabbled in under $100 IEMs. I've heard or owned a broad range of devices from $20 - $1500 and have a passion for finding high-value products. I've learned this is possible regardless of price but, obviously, this is especially exciting when you find it at lower price points. The RE800 is, in my opinion, one of these cases. The soundstage, imaging and detail retrieval on these far exceeds the best IEMs I've heard to date (under $100) and rivals very good $500 audiophile headphones IMO.A couple caveats might explain why these never caught on and are now on a fire sale:1. No detachable cable. At the original price this would be a deal breaker but at this price, I think it's much less of a concern as long as you aren't too hard on cables and can get a reasonable amount of use out of them before they eventually break.2. Tuning. These are not tuned to the typical Harman target. They are neutral bright. I am a bit of a treble-head and am not offended by the moderate brightness but I found I can largely eliminate the mild sibilance by EQing down the upper midrange and treble with a -3 dB shelf.3. Amplification. I have found these scale significantly with a quality amp. They sound good without one but are sublime on my Chord Mojo 2. I suspect this is because of their relatively high impedance (60 ohms) which makes them more difficult to drive. IMO, you should think of these as $600 IEMs which have the technical chops to showcase good equipment.I only have a couple days on these and will report back if anything changes in my opinion but right now, I'd say they are a no-brainer at the 83% off price.

The audio bargain of 2022
Simply superb. At the current asking price of $129 CAD, these are stupendous value. Tiny in size, gargantuan performance. Noting else needs be said.

Neutral bright, resolving, clarity, good instrument separation, with controlled low end, fast
At the current price, they are A- recommended. You need to find the proper tips that work for you. Otherwise you will lose (and this so for most IEMS) lower mids and bass. These are smooth, clear, balanced, clean sounding, not harsh, not sibilant, not crazy analytical, not boring, but with good resolution (above average), good separation and sound stage, the sound signature is balanced, clean, monitoring but still musical, not at the overly analytical end of the spectrum, they have some air in the upper treble, they are very small, and technical abilities are very good for this type and size of driver. They will require a good source. And power (imo). They are fast. Controlled. Resolving. Engaging. But cool sounding, not warm. Neutral-slight V shaped. They have bass but its in and out, its controlled, and fast decay. Timbre is not the most natural, but very good. I think resolution, technical treble and smooth midrange, easynes of presentation make this a very good IEM (for this type of driver and compactness). Vocals and instruments are good, but EDM and Jazz was excellent too. Does not beat planar technical abilities or speed, or resolution, or multiple drivers setup ofcourse. Too bad that the cable is non replaceable, that is the only thing I can fault these on.
