Very comfortable headphones. They fit completely over your ears without pressing against them so there's no pressure on your ears so you don't end up with the hot and a bit painful. As for the build quality, as you can imagine for that price, they're very well built. I've had them make before. I've heard it said that the base wasn't too good on them, but I found it more than adequate. They are very well made. Got a nice bright sound to them without sounding tinny the cable has a sturdy connection and a nice thickness. The whole set screams quality. More than happy with them. If you can afford them I'd give them the thumbs up

So glad I bought these, they were a treat and wondered if I should spend the money. Worth the price and value for money. The fit is very comfortable, does have not excessive clamp and light weight. I forget I have them on sometimes and even that they have a cable. Sound wise they sound pretty neutral to me, but I’m not an expert. You can hear more detail in the mix and instruments. Sound stage is not impressive but not bad either. I have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4s and although they are fairly easy to listen to they are far to bassy the point of being harsh and sound muddy, if you have been listening to these. Better frequency-wise, and more comfortable than a pair of oldish Grado SR225s. Yes they are open, yes there are other more practical headphones with noise cancelling and wireless features, and apps etc. But these are old school, no fuss and make you appreciate the music again.. easy to understand why they are fan favourites. Always surprised when I put them on. Only gripe is that the cable catches my nose and mouth when taking them off in a hurry. Theyre a bit underpowered on my iPhone, so you’ll need a dac or amp of some sorts. Works perfectly well on my MacBook Pro without extra amplification. Decent build quality, but sadly no decent case for your money.

I'm not a sound engineer, DJ, producer or massive audiophile but I wanted to see how good the "best consumer grade audio" would really be. In summary they are pretty impressive overall and after a month or so of using them daily I would say they're worth it if you don't mind the high price tag. I've used some variation of Sennheiser gaming headsets for 10+ years, from the HD560, HD595, PC350, Game Zero, recently the PC350 SE. They all last me a few years each and have been decent sound quality, especially the open back versions. The sound is definitely a cut above all of those headsets. When a video, movie or game used 3d audio, the "sound staging" or however you describe this is in a different class. For example live music is as immersive as I imagine it can be. Instruments seem to stand more on their own, you can pick out layers of the track easier. Due to this and the wider frequency coverage, you even hear some notes, sub bass or parts of songs that you couldn't hear before. For audio I can't deny they are fantastic and they have made me a bit of a sound snob because all my other headphones/earphones/airpods sound even more crap in comparison! I think the price is just a bit too steep for what they are and should at least include a built in mic for self monitoring. They are a more robust metal headband design than the lower models but that's about it, the build quality is better but they are no more comfortable, uses the same ear pad cups and design etc. Lastly the cable is pretty crap, and is one of the first things I upgraded. It comes with a heavy, chunky 1.5m cable that goes into a 6.5mm jack. You can get much better third party ones for around £15 up to 3 meters but you really shouldn't have to... I think around the 400 mark would be more fair for these. If you are already using something high end I doubt it's worth upgrading to these, but going from low to mid range they will still blow your ears away still after a month, so it's not just novelty or placebo.

I asked Amazon to refund the difference They wouldn't, but I could return them and reorder for the price I went to re order and suddenly the price was £500 Such shady dealings with Amazon, really shady Anyway....to the headphones After running in, they really are lovely sounding\ Not overloaded with Bass like a lot of these Beats headphones, which are completely overpriced because of the name The Bass is true, as in you actually hear the texture of a bass line rather than just some bass "noise" Instrument separation is very, very good The top end is what I would describe as smooth rather than overly detailed I mean, I getting on a bit, despite being 8-12 years old in the mind I'm actually middle aged..... what's middle aged you say? I dunno these daze I'd say 39-55 So as of the time of writing I'm somewhere in between that My hearing.. I can barely hear a 14khz tone now, so bear bare (how do you spell that?) in mind But it's probably better than most chaps my age, because once you past 30, the fact is you really do start to lose the top end of your hearing whether you like it or not Right, to the top end They tail off quicker than my Monito Audio Gold speakers But sound a tad smoother So ultimate detail might not be there if your ears need a bit of extra treble But they fit nice and are very comfy for long sessions, of listening that is 😊 You really have to wear them in a reasonably silent room though, as being open backed you will hear outside noises So if you're thinking of having these on whilst sitting next to the wife/husband/man friend/girlfriend/thing friend/in between friend I'd advise against getting them as they really do leak sound rather loudly I've had them a few months now, so I velvet, oops, I mean felt I could write a reasonable review Although reasonable I'm usually not Goodbye for now PS Also it asked me to give a star rating on "Sheerness" Seriously WTF is that all about I mean, is that a joke or you really want me to judge a headphone in relation to a place in Kent? I bought the HD 660S2 on recommendation, with a 30 day return guarantee from Amazon. So if iI was not happy with them I could easily return them. They do indeed sound good, though no better than my 5+ year old Grado SR125 headphones, which they were replacing. As a very careful and only user of these headphones I was disappointed to discover that the headphone cable had fractured after only 7 months of use (at one of the joints, probably the weakest part of any cable). I compare these to my numerous pairs of Grado SR60/SR125 headphones each of which have lasted 5 +years, sound equally as good, and with careful don't suffer from fractured cables. Sennheiser say the cable is a CONSUMABLE part and thus not covered by any warranty. I have to buy a replacement cable (even though the product is in warranty).. So they expect every user to buy replacement cables every 7 months because they manufacture non-durable cables. I wouldn't use another pair of these headphones even if they were free. I would rather buy another pair of much less expensive and considerably more reliable Grado headphones. (Grado actually include the cable in their warranty)

Incredible sound from these headphones. Expensive but easily worth the money due to such high performance.

These are everything I wanted in an over ear set. Admitadly, I have been a Sennheiser fan boy since first buying a set of their IE800 in ears. Everything about them was perfect (apart from maybe the cable). Instrument separation was sublime, very balanced, with just the right amount of bass. Treble was sparkly, but not sibilant. Soundstage was better than anything I had ever heard with iems. I have since changed to the IE500's, as I prefer the over ear design and find them almost identical, sonically. I have had a yearning for a set of over ear headphones of similar characteristics, but have never quite got there, either because they didn't quite match the IE800/500's character, or because I didn't have a powerful enough amp to drive them (I'm using Tidal with a usb DAC on android). I recently upgraded my usb DAC to an Ifi Go Bar, and it has more than enough power to handle these. Maybe not as much as a dedicated desktop amp, but enough that 3/4 volume is deafening! As for the character - spot on. Sennheiser all over! The bass is a welcome surprise for an open back set, and it has the same sparkle up top. Soundstage and separation are on par too. The question remains - why change if I was happy with the in ears? I guess, I feel more connected and engaged to the music with a set of large over ear headphones on my head. I feel I get lost in the music and feel I am literally sitting in the middle of a musical performance. Not that iems can't give you the same or similar experience, but I feel the sound is more 'full' and 'complete' with the full size headphones, probably due to the larger driver. I can't say I prefer my iems over the headphones, or vice versa, just different tools for different jobs. Sometimes, I want to be lost in the music and choose the headphones, other times, especially when out in public, I want the same experience, just at a more subtle and less 'full on' extent, if that makes sense. I'm an amateur audiophile, so much of the terminology I'm using may not make much sense. I just know what I like and there is most certainly a place in my collection for these and my IE500's, both of which I feel are cut from the same cloth and make for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. J’en ai eu des casques, de toutes marques, de toutes technologies, mais je penses avoir enfin trouvé le Graal ! Alors attention, mon avis est bien évidemment subjectif et dépend entièrement de ma configuration matériel ! Utilisé principalement sur mon ampli (Yamaha A-S1100) pour l’écoute de vinyles (Pro-ject PRO avec cellule 2M Black et preamp à lampes). J’avais craqué jusqu’à présent sur un Grado SR325X qui est vraiment excellent mais pas des plus confortables, le HD660S2 me faisait de l’œil depuis longtemps.. malgré certains commentaires qui laissent entendre un manque de basses, c’était justement l’un de mes objectifs, car depuis l’acquisition du preamp à lampes ces dernières étaient devenues un peu trop “brouillonnes” et je cherchais à les maîtriser au delà de ce que le Grado permet. Et la.. le mariage parfait !! Le Sennheiser m’apporte un équilibre vraiment parfait (encore une fois d’après mon matériel). J’obtiens des basses suffisent puissantes et d’une précisions folle ! Les médium sont également légèrement relevés ce qui lève un certain “voile” présent sur les voix et les aiguës sont cristallins ! Peut-être un peu trop présent au déballage mais au bout de quelques heures de lecture, ceux-ci s’apaisent pour devenir juste excellent ! Je suis vraiment ravi de mon achat !

Ci ho ragionato un attimo prima di acquistare queste cuffie per il semplice fatto che avevo le 660S. Però essendo carenti nelle frequenze basse ho optato nel venderle e prendere la nuova versione 660S2. Inoltre non lavoro nell’ambito audio e non ho la necessità oggettiva di averle, ma le uso solo per ascoltare la musica. Ebbene, sì queste 660S2 sono superiori alle 660S, anche se il suono è molto similare nelle due, le 660S2 hanno un suono più nitido e corposo ed infatti hanno quella gamma nei bassi che mancano nelle 660S, senza però essere mai invasivi. Il cosiddetto impulso nelle frequenze basse c’è ed è più presente rispetto alle 660S. Le ho da più di un mese e con il rodaggio il suono è migliorato. Le 660S le avevo invece da poco più di un anno. Una cosa molto importante che devo dire è che nonostante i 300 ohm di impedenza, sono molto facili da pilotare, pensate che con il mio PC HP Spectre con scheda audio B&O, già con il volume al 40% il suono è sufficientemente elevato per produrre danni all’udito se usato con costanza. Mentre con la prima versione 660S che hanno un’impedenza di 150 ohm con il volume al 30% si ottiene la stessa intensità sonora. Questo vuol dire che nonostante l’impedenza sia stata raddoppiata, in realtà l’induttanza e la sensibilità delle nuove 660S2 è maggiore, in proporzione all’impedenza. In conclusione, queste 660S2 sono la correzione delle 660S, infatti non ascoltavo spesso la musica con le 660S perché semplicemente la gamma bassa di frequenze era insufficiente in termini di volume. Inoltre, il suono delle 660S2 è più nitido e corposo. Rispetto alle frequenze alte è molto difficile notare la differenza, però le frequenze alte sono state migliorate nelle nuove 660S2, dopo aver confrontato diversi brani ed ascolti ho potuto costatare che c’è stato un miglioramento nelle frequenze alte. Faccio presente che con il volume intorno al 60% entrambe le cuffie mi iniziano a far male all’udito a causa dell’elevato volume, pur essendo il suono perfettamente nitido. Non entrano mai in distorsione nemmeno al 100% del volume. Rispetto alla confezione però, le nuove 660S2 non hanno una custodia rigida come le 660S, e lo scatolo della confezione è grande la metà, inoltre i cavi in dotazione sono lunghi la metà rispetto a quelli che vengono con le 660S. La qualità costruttiva delle cuffie è fenomenale, però il risparmio che ha fatto Sennheiser con la sola confezione è considerevole. Le nuove 660S2 sono confezionate come lo sarebbero cuffie da 30€, pur mantenendo certo la massima pulizia dentro la confezione. All’interno c’è anche un certificato di qualità. Devo dire però una cosa molto importante per chi è interessato ad ascoltare semplicemente la musica, e non è un professionista del settore audio: queste cuffie sono eccessive per il semplice ascolto della musica e non si giustifica il loro utilizzo non essendoci differenze importanti se l’unica cosa che si vuole fare è ascoltare la musica con il PC. Sono aperte, il suono è sì migliore anche in termini di qualità dei driver, ma se non si hanno molte pretese, spendendo un terzo del valore economico, ci si ascolta la musica con perfetta tranquillità e addirittura con la possibilità di avere un ascolto più caldo in caso di cuffie chiuse. Inoltre le 660S2 stringono molto, ancora di più rispetto alle 660S. Ho una vasta varietà di cuffie cablate, wireless, sia di tipo circumaurali che in ear. Quelle di più alto livello, quindi le migliori (e anche le più costose) sono queste 660S2. Inoltre, oltre alle cuffie ho un paio di impianti audio di alta qualità (B&O e Bose), che mi aiutano a conoscere le sfumature sonore. Non nego che la migliore qualità audio che posso ottenere è con queste 660S2. Avrei molte cose da dire su queste 660S2 e vi dico la più importante: costano tanto, pensateci un po’ e confrontatele a livello economico con altri prodotti, perché no, ad esempio con il costo di un grande elettrodomestico, o banalmente di un PC od uno smartphone. Per cui consiglio da subito a coloro che non hanno tanti soldi da sprecare, ma che semplicemente vogliono ascoltare la musica, di non buttarvi su queste cuffie perché la differenza obiettiva tra queste cuffie rispetto a ad altre cuffie di marca e qualità che però costano 3 volte meno, è trascurabile se ciò che si fa è ascoltare la musica per svago con il PC. Io queste cuffie le terrò volentieri. Non le restituirò e mai mi sono permesso di restituire un prodotto acquistato con Amazon che fino adesso mi ha sempre dato prodotti nuovi di zecca, con una spedizione formidabile.

These sound great! Moving from HD560s (not so good) these sound amazing. They feel really comfortable too, Not tight on the head or ears.

Well built, sits very comforably on the head. Well defined open sound with clear, punchy bass and gentle treble, suitable for long listening sessions. Should preferably be used with a suitable high Ohms amp to get the most out of them. The only thing that could be better is the cable, which is a bit stiff and won’t really go stright after being coiled up in the box. Doesn’t come with a protective travelling case, just a soft pouch. Overall a really great pair of headphones, especially in this price range.

Perfekte Neutralität, und super genialer Bass. Genau richtig. Nicht zu viel und nicht zu wenig. Kein bisschen Dröhnen sondern schön knackig und präzise. Angenehmer Tragekomfort. lediglich die zwei Kabel stören ein bisschen. Ich finde Kabel nur auf einer Seite besser. Außerdem sind die Stecker ein bisschen wackelig beziehungsweise lose. Ein Arretierungsmechanismus wäre besser gewesen. Dennoch, der gigantische Klang macht alles wett. Bester Kopfhörer, den ich je hatte oder getestet habe. Er schlägt selbst den doppelt so teuren Focal MG.
