Lives up to expectation
This was recommended by a professional painter/ pencil artist. It definately lives up to expectations. Great film and would recommend

Great for pencil art
This paper is just amazing for coloured pencil art - the colours just glide smoothly over but it takes lots of layers, so you can build up realistic colour. I love working with it and am very pleased with the results I get with it. Would highly recommend it.

Excellent alternative to paper support.
Drafting film is very different to paper in that it is not...paper. It's more like tracing paper although more stable, sturdy and they claim `untearable'. It's also opaque translucent. The main benefit is that you don't need to transfer your sketch of your subject to the support, you can just slip it underneath and use your coloured pencils on top. Your sketch shows through the drafting film and eliminates those nasty outlines. What you immediately notice with working on drafting film is how smooth and how quickly it grabs the coloured pencil pigment. You don't need to work the pencil into the tooth at all. It positively glides on. If that wasn't enough, the pigment pops off the page without much effort at all. But for those that like their layers, drafting film only takes 3 or 4 layers (depending on how light you work) and you have to know what you are putting down before you start. There isn't much room for trial and error. So far I like it though and it allows you to work very quickly indeed. Because of the surface readily accepting the pencil it is very easy to keep the point on your pencil and those sharp points don't snap as soon as you touch it. Your point does wear down normally but the film allows you to keep that sharpener-fresh spike longer. It's translucency also offers intriguing possibilities for the background of drawings.

Quality is good
First time ordering drafting film so wasn't sure what to expect. Package arrived quickly and it is nice and flat no bends or kinks. The quality whilst drawing is amazing. Cost was also good.

Great for colour pencil artists
Great paper for colour pencil drawing. Lovely smooth surface. Comes in a pad of 15 sheets each with a tissue paper sheet on top to protect. If you've never tried colour pencil on drafting film this is the stuff to get!! After using this film for about 18 months I find that I get the best results with polychromos pencils, they are just the right amount of hardness and pigment and pablo pencils for the same reasons. I’ve also used luminance but can find it gets a little bit of grainy residue, I’m not a fan of lightfast on this surface as I think they are way too soft and I don’t get the superfine detail I get with polys/pablos. I’ve used zest it successfully on this surface, but as it doesn’t penetrate the film it’s got a much longer drying time and you need to be careful you use it sparingly as you could end up with a soupy grey/brown liquid sitting on the surface. Also be very very careful when you handle this paper that you don’t bend it as even the slightest crease is there to stay and can ruin the piece,I’ve lost several pieces of A3 this way.

Good to work on
Good to work on Wasn't happy how the pad was packed because it had buckled in transit should be in a tight cardboard envelope not loose with heavy stuff Fast delivery

Lovely to draw on
Lovely, smooth paper for drawing on. Coloured pencil rubs out very easily with no marks and it was easy to use my slice tool without damaging the paper.
