Which rootstock is the graft on? I am trying to get a feel for the max height it will grow as wanted to espalier against a fence to provide screening

Highest graft is about 4 foot after 6 months, other 6 inch lower

Should I plant this in the ground or a pot?

I have planted mine in the ground. As previous answer you could plant it in a pot but you would need a bigger pot to allow root growth but would need to keep on top of the watering. I can foresee that you might need to plant in the ground eventually

Is it the wrong time of year to be planting a bare root tree

Yes bare root trees are an autumn planting project

Could these grow in a container of about 50 litres?

I have just planted mine in a 50 litre pot, and I have flowers on them already, I only planted them June 11th
