Will this not work on architectural shingles?

Yes this tool does work on dimensional shingles as a roofer that makes his living doing roof repairs I had my share of ripping shingles while trying to lift and nail so just get the hang of the tool and you will be a hapoy and less fustrated roofer on your next repair

Does this work well with the ridge cap shingles?

I think it would be a great tool to have, because it is very useful on all types of shingles.. it is very durable. Great at spot repair and for tough nail removal..

What is the difference between 1-(pack), (improved.) and single pack? they all look like the same product with widely different prices.
