Finally Untied And Free From That Damn USB Cord After All This Time!
There are three components being used here; the head unit, the dongle and a phone. You cannot say with certainty which one of these makes one of them better or worse than the other because you simply don't know. I chose this AACPLAY Android Auto wireless adapter sold by CPLAY because they gave more details about the numbers (5.8 GHZ WiFi Rate for instance) not just 5G. It also didn't look like one of those flying saucers from the old War of the Worlds movie either. It will cut your phone battery life in half, so on long drives you'll want to plug in. There are no multi-steps, like deleting your phone from your car or doing anything special; it's plug and play. After I pared it (which is the only step after plugging it into your USB), my screen showed "No Video Connection", which I did not know was normal, so I turned my car off and restarted my phone. When it came back up, the same screen showed, but only for about 10-15 seconds or so and then my map came on. I was impatient and should have waited. The next day it came on in about as many seconds after starting the car, but found it would not accept my voice commands and it said out loud, "Oops, there is a connection problem", so I restarted my phone, which disconnected it and then I had to re-pair it, but since it was already on my phone list, when I tapped it, it was instantly connected and running. Since then, it takes about 15-25 seconds to load (sometimes less), which is much better than pulling my phone out of my pocket every time I get in the car.I doubt there is a unit on here that does not have some kind of hiccup at some point; usually when first installed. We all restart our phones and computers, so no reason this would not need some kind of purging at some point, it's not a big deal to me. The speed is not dependent on this adapter, but the speed of your phone (I have Samsung S21 5G). Also the battery life is because of wi-fi and Bluetooth, not the adapter. Your phone may have a better/worse battery than mine does.I recommend this unit because it is sleek, small and it works just fine. There is a blue blinking light on one side, but it is not bright, I turn the block toward my carpet and wedge it between the passenger seat and the console and both the unit and the light cannot be seen. It comes with a little pouch you can put it in also. After a year, it's not perfect, but I've enjoyed it and it's probably about the same in that regard to all of them out there. After all this time, I really don't think about it much; it's part of the car now.

Quality
Works great. Connection time is identical to normal Bluetooth on the car. It's worth it.

Great product! Finally found one that works without dropping the connection every 10 minutes!
I have been searching for months for an android auto wireless adapter that actually worked and this is it! Every other product I tried would drop my phone connection regularly or require a reboot of the device to connect again to my device. So aggravating! It's a simple technology and should be reliable. This product connected with no issues and I was good to go! There is no lag when using it with my Alpine head unit. The sound quality is amazing.I have only had the connection to my phone drop once in the 2 months I have been using it. FINALLY! THANK YOU I highly recommend giving it a try if you are struggling like I was.The only thing I would change is the indicator light on the device blinks. The location I mounted the unit makes the blinking light noticeable at night but honestly it's not that bright so it's really just a small qualm that I have in my pursuit for perfection.

Disconnects
Worked well with my Atoto S8 Ultra Gen 2 headunit for the first week. It started to randomly disconnect so I changed the cable and the disconnects still occurred.

Working great so far. Skeptical of any firmware updates for this
I've wanted to go Bluetooth for my aftermarket JVC deck in my Ram 1500 for over a year now, and there's a plethora of Android Auto wireless adapters on the market. For 30 bucks, I decided to get this one in hopes that it fills my needs. I've been using it for a couple of days with zero issues so far. It was fairly easy to set up, and connection via Bluetooth takes anywhere form 10 to 30 seconds. Hasn't dropped a single connection yet.My biggest concern is that the website "aacplay.com" does not work, and this is where the firmware updates are supposed to come from. I also believe that there will never be a website for firmware updates--this leaves me to believe that eventually I'll have a brick on my hands. Hopefully, this doesn't happen anytime soon. For th most part, I'm satisfied with this purchase. I'll update as I continuously use this.

Compact & Plug-and-Play
I love how small and simple this adapter is—no extra power cords or complicated setup. Just plug it into the USB port (Type-A or Type-C, which is awesome), and it works instantly. No need to keep my phone plugged in anymore. It’s like magic! Perfect for anyone who hates messy cables.
