The pictures don't do it justice, the detail on the pieces really are good.I thought it might be hard telling what character is what piece but they have little letters on the back of them telling you what they are. K,Q,KT,B etc. The board itself is nice and solid. Very nice looking chess set for DC fans

Great present
Bought this for my nephew s a big Christmas present, he's a huge fan of DC and had asked for this, at first I thought it was very pricey for a chess set but its very well made and so nice as a presentation board so my opinion was changed quickly when it came. he loved it too which was good.

Beautiful chess set
Well made and intricately designed set, very strong and sleek, black and silver board looks great. The pieces are beautiful, and although there are some minor flaws on some pieces (on mine the left eyes on both batmans are slightly higher than the right and one of the green lantern's crest is slightly off to the left) you can't expect absolute perfection.I've played once so far and I didn't get too confused about which characters represented which piece, but I was playing with a buddy who wasn't familiar with the characters who did find it slightly confusing at moments (however we'd had a drink or two) but I'm sure you soon get used to it. Also the pieces are marked with a symbol on the front of the base and a letter on the back.I paid £49.99 for this set, and I'm so happy with it, unbelievably well made and very stylish. I don't think I'd pay anything like £80 for it, which I have seen it listed for in the past, but that's just me. I do hope this set will last a lifetime though, the nicest set I've ever seen, but I'm a huge nerd so I'm biased.
