My 3yo grandaughter absolutely loved this happy book. She learnt the text and read it out loud to herself often. The little flaps drew her through the book - perhaps because they're more interesting than just turning pages and seeing the whole thing instantly...?

I bought this book for my Nephew who was turning 1. He was very much into lift the flap books at the time so hoped this would do the trick. It certainly did! He loved finding the birthday cake at the end and kept choosing the book to be read to him time and time again. Would definitely recommend this book. Great delivery too.

Most children loves books. Reading to a child means love to that child.My granddaughter was one when I gave this book to her. It us bright and colorful, and she laughed with glee every time she opened up one of the flaps. Every time she sees a cake, now,Nashe thinks it is a birthday cake and wants some if the frosting. The storyline is fun and thrilling for a little child. I think one year olds are the perfect age for this book. Parents/teachers enjoy reading this book to their child. The child enjoys the flaps and hearing about birthdays. The illustrations are bright, beautiful, and colorful and depict the story of the birthday cake.Recommended. prisrob 07-21-15

This book was an Amazon suggestion for a 1st birthday present. The description says board book which it is, but also states sturdy flaps, but the flaps are in fact thin and flimsy. Purchasers should also note that the wording is USA spelling. Throughout the book the illustrations are colourful but very 'busy' and would be muddling for such a young child. On the final page the birthday cake shows 4 candles and this book would definitely be too immature for a 4 year old.....overall not my best buy, had I seen the book in person in a shop I would not have bought it.

Nice little book bought as part of a first birthday gift. It has some interactive parts throughout, such as flaps to lift and different textures to prod!
