Brewing yeast for summer shandy
When you order brewing kits but don’t read the instructions right away (saying to refrigerate the yeast…. ) We were ready to brew a summer shandy and needed a compatible yeast. I found these and used approx 1/3 packet for a gallon brew. It worked great in the fermenter, very active/productive.

Great for making ginger beer! Helped my ginger bug, and then it carbonated my ginger beer!
Works really well! And it's really a lot of yeast for my application. Been storing safely in the fridge for when I want to do more ginger beer!

The kit didn't have any yeast for priming
I used this when the kit didn't have any for priming. Who doesn't use yeast to carbonate? Dummies I guess.

Fermentation and final ABV as expected
The yeast packet arrived quickly and I saw activity within 2 days of pitching. I used it on a batch of ginger beer, the final ABV was 5.4%, I believe that is close to the expected percentage. I didn't like the taste of the finished product, perhaps a different yeast strain would make a better tasting beer (again not the fault of the yeast), but at this point I think I'll stick with the ginger bug.

Started working within a few hours and produced a wonderful Ale.

Did not work
I know this yeast strain is slow to activate but it's been 8 days and there's no sign of activity. I was pretty meticulous in my brewing and I'm confident it's not an error on my part. I can't verify expiration dates because the bar-code sticker is covering the dates of expiration. Now I'm in a mad rush to get another yeast packet before my batch spoils. I don't usually take time to write reviews but I'm pretty disappointed.
