I got this instead of the much higher prices "for dogs" warming buddy. My dog loves to be warm (she has an electric throw and burrows in blankets during the summer) and she has pretty bad separation anxiety. I got her this to snuggle with when she's cold and to help her feel more secure. She loves it even though it's still pretty hot in my area. The toy has pretty good insulation and she'll kick it away if she gets too hot. If I'm not going to be with her while she uses it, I don't heat up the beads for as long to decrease burn risk.Things I like:* Re-usable/re-heatable clay beads (some of the dog buddy ones were single use hot hands-type packets)* Very soft* Good size for my dog* Didn't have a weird factory smellThings I don't like:* It's spot clean only.
