Why does the product say 500mg in the front but 140mg on the back?

Each capsule contains 500mg magnesium glycinate and 70 mg elemental magnesium because magnesium glycinate contains 14% magnesium. This is the reason that it states magnesium glycinate 500mg in the front. On the back of the bottle, due to FDA regulation, the amount per serving has to be listed. one serving is 2 capsules, so the amounts listed are 1000mg magnesium glycinate and 140 magnesium.
