Best Naturals Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D-3 240 Tablets (240 Count (Pack of 1))

The most common form of calcium available on Amazon, in pharmacies, or prescribed by doctors, is Calcium Carbonate. However, Calcium Carbonate can prove significantly problematic for people like me who have a history of stomach problems (e.g. stomach ulcers, highly acidic stomachs, reflux, heartburn, indigestion, etc...) - it makes all your problems much worse, on a daily basis. Trust me ! So, after researching, I found that Healthline, WebMD, and the NIH, all recommend Calcium Citrate for those with stomach problems as it is exponentially more gentle on the stomach. I take my two daily tablets as follows : I leave them to fully dissolve in a little water, then I add Live yoghurt and milk, stir the whole lot producing a "Calcium Lassi" (or "Calcium Ayran" for those who only know the Turkish equivalent) and I have that with my meal. Not a single hit of stomach problems. I like this Best Naturals brand because the daily recommended value (2 pills of Calcium Citrate + Vitamin D) gives you 54% of your daily recommended Calcium and Vitamin D - so no overdosing, leaving you to top up your daily intake of Calcium and Vitamin D through food such as yoghurt, milk, cheese, etc... I think this half-dosing is a very well thought out formula from Best Naturals.

Product seems fine, I'm happy with my purchase

Excellent content in these tablets but we find them too large to swallow - if you break in half they have rough edges ... BUT they are crushable into a powder easily so I have them in a drink which is just acceptable; my partner doesn't like the powdery taste.

They are very good value for money and seem to be working well if my nails are anything to go by - my nails are long and strong. The tablets are large & the dose is two at a time. I especially like that it is calcium citrate which is easily absorbed by the body unlike the calcium supplied on the NHS which can cause kidney stones. The addition on Vitamin D is a great plus and I no longer have to buy this separately. Very pleased with my purchase.

Find this a good, well thought out formulation. Tablets are big but easily eaten (I chew them). Expect I will continue to use them. Nails seem stronger and faster growing. Would give 5* if they had, for example, a nice fruity flavour instead of quite a bland though not upleasant one.

These tablets are humongous. They easily broke in half but it was still an ordeal to swallow them. They were still big but with added roughness and they got stuck in my throat. I avoided talking them because of this even though I need the calcium. The last straw came a few days ago when they got so stuck that I was choking, spluttering and my eyes were watering. The solution was to buy capsules which are far easier to swallow. These were virtually a whole tub and, regrettably, I had to throw them in the bin. Calcium Citrate Capsules are the solution to this rolling theme amongst calcium supplements. Never again will I buy in tablet form.

This is the most effective type of calcium supplement. I can’t believe the nhs prescribe calcium carbonate…yes, I can, it’s cheaper yet if you do the research you’ll see carbonate is poorly absorbed and it also caused me to have mild skin reactions. I had osteoporosis, thanks to a new wonder drug plus this, vitamin k2 and lots of dairy in my diet I now have osteopenia rather than osteoporosis, it’s probably the drug but my latest Dexa scan results showed a huge (30%) improvement in bone density which I am certain is due to hitting the calcium from all angles.

Good quality product and value for money

The calcium citrate was delivered quickly. The dosage was correct. When I began taking the tabs, it seemed they broke apart easily, but I am not sure this will be an ongoing issue. Otherwise, I am quite satisficed.

I thoroughly investigate dietary supplements before purchasing, and was pleased that Best Naturals tests both their raw materials and finished products, and conducts quality audits. I feel confident taking their Calcium Citrate, knowing I'm getting exactly what I purchased. The tablets are a little large but they are relatively easy to swallow. Definitely a good value.

Good price but the tablets are big. Si if you’re not q big fun of big tablets look for another brand.

Good source of calcium with decent cost

Basic calcium. Huge oblong pills that are sometimes hard for me to swallow but I need that extra calcium. If you have trouble swallowing meds, I don’t recommend them
